I can't get rid of the stuff. I have pulled it out and even took a wire brush to it and it still comes back. I was pulling a wad out not too long ago and the tops would kinda tear off and they would float off, I though no big deal they're dead....what a joke on me. They not only lived they multiplied. I gave them to my sister in law as her last ones died. Weird how some people can grow things and then you try it and it all dies. I have seen xenia on glass in pet store, you're right it does kinda look cool. If it roots on the little rock maybe you could place it next to glass and as it grows it will stretch out and get onto the glass. Ya never know...

LOL...I know I see some tank pics and it is just flowing...and I read people that complain about it and I am like...GEEZ....I WANT XENIA in my 225
Maybe it will grow in the 29G...we shall see

Xenia will usually grow upwards. I also wanted mine on the back of my tank so this is what I did. Take a frag plug and rubber band a stalk to the wrong end of the plug (the skinny end) I then glued the frag plug to the back of my tank or up high on a rock etc. The xenia quickly attached itself to the frag plug then I was able to remove the rubber band, pretty soon after that the xenia grew upwards on the glass and I was able to remove the frag plug and scrape the remaining glue off.

It's like training a vine to go up a trellis. Attach it to the rock or rubble and put it against the glass on a high perch and it will spread, encourage the upward growth by redirecting it if necessary.
