ok i have a problem ive been siphoning so much ive lost alot of sand in the process in places its only 1/4" and i still cant seem to rid myself of this filt
i checked phosphate and its says below 0.03 and that as writen by SALIFERT should be fine but i still cant shake this stuff
anyway my question is will it be safe to add more live sand without fear of starting another cycle?
or is there something else i can add on top of the sand i have like some other form of substrate
are there any type of safe small rocks possibly

i have already started a thread about my algae problem but i figured this would stop all that reading and put my problem at hand right here to read quicky
but if you want to help me further here is the link

Don't bother with live sand. Just buy some sand at the LFS and add it to the tank to replace what's been lost.

stop siphoning your sandbed and get more snails. They clean up the algae pretty good. You can just add more sand but I wouldn't add alot at once.

dont add sand all at once. Just a thin layer at a time. If you dont want to get that mess again try to get some flow goes over send.

Where is the gunk coming from? Are you overfeeding? Looks like you need more clean up crew. Get some Nassirius snails and some Cerith snails.

60 some odd blue legged crabs
they keep the rocks totally cleaned off
i only feed once every two days
i really think because its a new tank and im just getting everything established
just about 2 months old

Ah yes. new tanks will tend to accumulate gunk and diatoms. Your tank is nice. Keep doing what you're doing. All will be well soon.
