LR Curing Help

I bought a full 75 gallon bow front tank setup from a buddy mainly for the ~150 pounds of LR that came with it to help stock my upcoming 280g tank. I plan to eventually use the tank for a dragon moray. I now have the LR in a 44 gallon garbage can (basically full) with a heater and pump turning the water around that I just set up last night. My questions are how often should I do a water change? How crucial are the parameters? And the rock didn't have a lot of life to it, is there anything I can do while its curing to help this out?
Thanks for any help or suggestions

Was there nuisance algae growth? I would check water parameters and do water changes accordingly.....

The was no nuisance and actually very little algae growth, I have been checking parameters and plan on doing my first water change tonight. Do I need to use R/O for this?

Perform 100% water changes twice weekly.
Use a nylon bristle brush between water changes to gently remove white film or dead material.
After one week, check the ammonia and nitrite levels periodically. When water conditions stabilize and ammonia and nitrite test zero, the rock is now aquarium ready.

The rock was cured sorry for my wording, my main concern is just keeping it alive and healthy while I wait for my new tank to be ready. When the tank was moved to my house the rock was inside large tubs with the tank water in it, so the rocks were out of water for very minimal time. I just dont want to lose any life the rock has and would like to do anything beneficial for it possible
