Absolutely! It allows you to keep an eye on corals at night to see if any bugs or worms are eating on them. It prevents your fish from being spooked by crawling night critters, and it prevents fin nipping/ fights at night.
plus it allows you to view your tank at night, some things/critters you will never see in the daylight...your tank is alive 24/7 and the blue looks really cool...my red coraline algae has a glow in the dark orange on new growth, which is not seen under daytime lights.
