mangroves???

i went to my lfs and they had something called mangroves or something like that. it looks like a root put through styrofoam and it floats on the water. they say it helps as a filtration...has anybody heard of that before?

ive heard of it i was actually thinkin bout getting some for my refuge...i guess its really good..bang guy actually has some in his pond i think

Very slow growing, and not very efficient. My LSWFS has some growing, he thought it would be cool.
Takes years to get it going he says.

They can be decorative and provide good habitat for pods and timid creatures.
It's not much for nutrient export IMO unless you have dozens of them under intense lighting.
There are better ways to export nutrients.
