In the first pic she is getting ready to crack another clam. The second pic is amazing in that she has cracked the leading edge of the clam and is using a discarded shell to hold the new clam upright as she cracks it, very very smart

do you leave the shell pieces in the tank? If not, how do you get them out, with a net?
When I want to remove the larger pieces I move them to one end of the tank using a dowel . I then put a piece of krill on the feeding stick and present it to her. She will remove the krill and take it into her burrow. I then quickly and I do mean quickly reach in and remove the shells.
That's just awesome!
when my 75g das tank is empty again of fishes, i'm getting one. The fish in there just came out of qtine/treatment and are in there for monitoring for a month before going into the 475. Hopefully about a month-6 weeks from now.
Actually I have come to learn mantis like less than pristine water. That being so I hardly ever do water changes and have limited filtration and water movement. This causes my nitrates to remain in my tank and the algae feed off of this causing a prolific growth
