Well that's one thing about them they stay open longer than most LFS and even open on Sundays. I had to get some salt from them a while back because I was out and ran down to SLC on a Sunday. So I guess I should say, given the choice I wouldn't even buy my fish food from them lol. Thing is, anytime we buy anything from them... fish food, dog food, cat food, etc we are supporting them. I have actually started going to Petsmarts in a crunch because they do not carry SW fish... problem with that is here, they have very little sw products.

At least you get some sense of civilization NOW and get to go to Dallas.

I used to actually work in a ***** in Nj for almost a year and a half. This was the worst expericence ever. Not only does the training suck ( fish have scales, satwater fish live in salt water)[ and that is the extent of the training EXCEPT FOR THE FISH PERSON], but if a shipment comes in that is more important and you have to go do the shipment. Now i guess if the fish person was there from open to close 7 days a week it wouldnt look so bad but that is impossible. When the fish person is not there the other people that sell the fish that may not know anything about fish throws a couple of goldfish in the clowntrigger tank or throw a gldfish or two in the lionfish tank. The size of them is sometimes just as big as the fish being fed. Ive even seen pinky mice thrown in the trigger tank to feed him. personally i knew alot about the fish. ( I was the reptile specialist and knew alot about fresh and saltwater , having kept both kinds of tanks.)
If a fish in one tank has ich, or some other disease, then the fish that live in the same system live in the same water. The ich fish will not be for sale but the other fish will... even though there is ich in the system.
There is much more but im busy and too pissed to write about *****. What a bad place to shop...

I almost moved to Atlanta I was so desperate to get out of here due to a transfer available for my husband. But I'm holding out for another six years and then I'm out of here.
If you are looking for an excellent LFS who will order anything you are looking for let me know because my LFS gets top quality and at good prices.

Fort Dodge. If you are looking for something special, I know my LFS will do special orders as well. He does them for me and others that are really into their aquariums.
He really knows his stuff and the fish he gets are excellent quality.

***** here in ABQ is NOT a good place to buy livestock.....Once I went in and looked at their fish---way too many in each tank, temps were over 82. When I mentioned it to a staff member, they couldn't care less! I wanted to buy ALL the fish so they wouldn't have to die there. That just irritates the HECK out of me.

To hit a really old thread
I visited one in the NE mall area in fort worth. and they had inverts. There tanks were in pretty nice shape. as far as the inverts and coral go. Actually they looked better than the LFS store that is closest to me near houston. Although the selection is way better at the lsf.

I really believe it has to do with staff/owner. If the staff or owner are knowledgable then they usually will have some good stuff. If not, you will see it as discribed above. I've got three lfs are that local for me. Two of them are poorly run and you can tell. The other store I visit the most and has a great stock of fish, inverts, and coral....as well as a knowledgable staff.
