Maybe babies?

Ok guys..I just wanna see if anyone knows this.. I found something in my tank this morning..i dont have a camera but im going to explain it as best as i can. Its up against the back of my tank..it was kinda behind one of my rocks..i didnt mess with it cause i dont know what it is..But it kinda looks like human mucus. Its clearish/white, looks slimy It kinda looks like a cocoon of some sort. Its in the shape of one too. Possibly babies or eggs? Something like that? If anyone has any pics of fish eggs or something like that maybe i could tell. The only fish that Ive had in my tank were a yellow tang..(Leo) who dies yesterday, a green chromis, blue devil damsel, and a tomato clown.. Please let me know!!!! Thanks! :notsure:

Oh no, if you have a sponge growing it will soak up all the water...
:D sorry....
Sponges are single celled animals that form complex structures to filter the water for food. They are generally harmless and often quite attractive.

J/J anyway, so they are not bad? They help filter water? If anybody has a picture can i see please? I hope becomes pretty.

nope nothing like that...the best way i can describe it is...what it looks like when you spit. Its white/transparent. But it looks slimy, just like mucus. and its cocoon like...I wish i had a camera but i dont.

Deffinetally (sp) a sponge I have one just like it they are filter feeders and are completely harmless, it looks kindof webby looking right?....another idea if its not really webby looking is that it could be a sea squirt, I also have a ton in my tank but they are completely transparent....I sure its an encrusting sponge...kinda hard to keep alive though, but another way to know if its eggs though is to wait to see if they hatch, thats all.

Sounds like a sea squirt to me. I have a bunch in my tank that just appear from the LR. They appear for a few months, die off, then are replaceed by some other little critter, then they reappear again. that's what is so cool about SW tanks, everything changes and you get to see new critters almost every day :jumping: :cheer:

Thats cool if its a sponge...but it would be really neat if they were eggs. I have a bubble bar in my tank and it is right behind the bar up against the back of the tank. It does look kinda webby, almost like a thick cob web.

I took the backing off of my tank it look at it throughthe back glass...under the white mucus stuff there are 4 blackish/brown balls. Im not sure if i should mess with it or not! Please help!
