see I cant stand regualr coffee though LOL I know its strange but its gotta have foam and some flavoring to it for me. WH where I worked at before did the fresh ground beans and all that but it wasnt the same thing.
no not running my own as of right now but that could always change I working towards a salaried position within the store I am at but they have alot of classes and books to be filled out then you have to be verified by someone above the store MGR level,
been there since July 9TH and have already completed 18 diferent SOC's one per day so 18 days of classes, crew trainer verification and manuals, McCafe Specialist certified and working on swing MGR to start the next level of training for the salaried postition. All this started about 3 weeks after I started. been on the fast track ever since lot of work and my back doesnt agree with most of it but I actually really enjoy the work. ** I never thought I would say that about working at Mcdonalds though it wasnt my first choice of places because of things that are said** I wish I would have started there instead of wasting almost 15 years at the other place.

I know things have been tough for you so I am glad that you found something that (so far) seems to be working out for you. (Knock on wood)
See, sometimes good things DO happen to good people.

yeah so far so good.
I am surprised that more people dont know about this since they have sunk so much money into the project.

So you work for Micky D's.
I'd vaguely heard about a couple premium drinks. Had no Idea they were going to open coffee specialty stores however.

yesh they had a premium line of iced coffees with different flavors
sugar free vanilla, vanilla, caramel, hazelnut
but they are adding the made to order latte, cappachino, with the above flavors and the mochas.
They are doing away with the dry powder capachinos that you can get at the gas stations.
Yeah been there for about three months and I actually like it.

There are two reasons why I never went to McDonalds for coffee.
1. I have no desire to sit there and drink coffee. (what I do at the bucks on occation)
2. I figured most of their "specialty" coffees were the powdered variety.
3. Even if they do have premium coffee in there, I figured the greasy fast food employee would be lazy and not make it right.
4. My mom works for the bucks, and I have bags of their coffee already free sitting at my house. So I never go to starbucks anyways. I am just a coffee drinker not any of this wierd stuff.

The machine that they installed is a very smart cutting edge machine from switzerland you have to answer questions before you can make the drink
first question
will the drink have syrup?
yes or no
Is the drink NON-FAT?
yes or no
what size is the drink?
sample-small-medium-large
What type of drink is it?
latte-iced latee-cap-iced cap-mocha-iced cap-espresso
Please place cup under head and press enter~
the machine does EVERYTHING else execpt the whip cream and what syrups need added.
Its really amazing every day the machine locks itself up till its cleaned fully which takes 20-30 minutes It sense the coffee beans and new they are and have to replace every 12 hours or it wont make a drink and lock itself up till they are repaced. it sense if the milk needs to be replaced and an alarm sounds and it locks till its replaced.
Every 5 minutes it cleans the tubes, and head, and lines also in between the drinks it sprays super heated water to clear the machine of any previous drinks. It really is amazing to watch this machine work.
BTW it even tells you when the coffee grounds need to be emptied out!!! and of course it alarms till they are.

You listed four...
1. I have no desire to sit there and drink coffee. (what I do at the bucks on occation)
2. I figured most of their "specialty" coffees were the powdered variety.
3. Even if they do have premium coffee in there, I figured the greasy fast food employee would be lazy and not make it right.

What do you mean here streb? In #1, you say that you sit in "Bucks" and drink coffee on occasion, yet in 4 you say you never go there. You say that
I figured most of their "specialty" coffees were the powdered variety.
then say that you just drink coffee, none of this weird stuff. #3 is absolutely rude and uncalled for.

3# Have you ever worked in fast food recently? Especially in a large metroplex? The cleanliness of fast food places make me pray if I eat there. Around Houston, the only clean fast food joint is ChickFilet and whataburger. If you walk into most toxic bells, jack in the boxes, Wendy's, arbys any fried chicken joint. You are greeted at the door with a stench that can almost equate with a rest stop bathroom. (And my smeller is pretty messed up) And their food is poorly assembled, (hey it is fast food it isn't going to taste great) usually missing something. I don't expect someone knee deep in frying oil and grease to make me a good cup of coffee. They can't well probably don't even try put together a burger right. I'm not knocking the burger flipper. Just saying, I don't have high expectations when I walk into McDonalds, and I have high expectation when if I were to pay 3-4 dollars for a drink.
See even McDonalds don't trust their employee to make a good cup of coffee a giant machine does it. They just put a cup underneath it, and say Moca-hoca-frapa-chino with extra cream. (might be really fun to play with)
I never go on my own, if I do it is with the wife so we aren't cooped up in the house. I used to on my own for coffee, and do on trips where I don't have access to my own coffee machine. So that is where the rarely and never come into play. I'm some where between rarely and never on the visiting starbucks.
And yes I started out with two and got carried away.
I wasn't trying to be rude, clearly michael isn't the burger flipper, and probably some sort of management. And hopefully the input will help him when with someone who is their target demographic. And I might occasionally drink an americana but that is about it, everything else is just to fancy for me. My wife on the other hand, has all those drinks down, double white chocolate moca with whipped cream and cinnamon sprinkled on top. Or something to that effect.

well actually right at this moment in time I am one of the people that assembles the sandwhiches in the back of the store.
I have never been the Huston area but I have been all around here and I do agree most places are well for a lack of a better word DISGUSTING at the store I work at and most in this area is that we have an average of 6-9 people at work or more at any one time. each person gets a 30 minute lunch break. Before they can go on break they have to take out the trash, sweep, mop, and take out the trash. we are very proud of the cleanlyness of our store the store is more than 15 years old and still looks brand new no grease build up or anything like that. I wish all places took as much pride in their resteraunt as we do though!! Unfortuneatly most do not.

it is actually fun I wish I had one at home LOL
the reason for the machine is that like above 1knight164 pointed out that his wife went to 2 different stores and got completely different products this machine does away with that so no matter where you go you will get exactly the same no matter what.

Which boils down to employees.
And was speaking in generalizations regarding the food prep crew. I didn't mean to insult you in any way.

I love McCafe coffees. My favorite is the new mocha Hip Hip Frappa. Have you tried that yet? Very few McDonalds have McCafe.
