We need to start a "Tank Haters Annomous", to help us convert our haters in our lives to the way of the tank! Welcome to the site and glad that your first hands on experience was a success!

When I got home, the tank looked GREAT! All water parameters stayed level.
I was curious if I would see obvious growth from being gone for 2 weeks. It is amazing how much this stuff grows! One doesn't see it as much looking at the tank every day, but stay away for a while and...Holy Crap!!
I will try to take some pictures this weekend to share; montis, acros, brain and zoas went NUTS!
-the first night home, she said "Tonight is a big night, alk, cal and mag needs dosing, and it's also feeding night. You need me to walk you through it?"

Welcome!
It's indeed nice to see another couple sharing the hobby.
I'm not quite as well-known around here as my wife (Cranberry), but I made it here awhile back. I suppose, most folks here know us as the resident "scorp nuts". We've also kept reefs, bred and kept SH, and several Stomatopods.
Glad to hear the tank did fine under your care.

I need new lighting...! Its driving me crazy that I can't get stuff to watch grow! I love my fish, don't get me wrong...but I hate that I can't have corals! I had a trigger pawned off on me (for a short time), and I am ready to have him out! What little growth I did have is now looking awful! He is a bottomless pit! He eats EVERYTHING! I can't wait to have him gone. I think my hubby would be more into the tank with corals. He just isn't as into the fish. I am working on him though :)

My husband is slowly coming around to having an interest in my SW obsession. He rushes over and watches during feeding time. He's way more interested in the snails and crabs then the fish though...haha

LOL...to be honest, the "free" critters that crop up are super interesting. Get a good magnifying glass and keep it near the tank, it will probably get him more excited about the tank.
