So far so good Meow. That's probably the biggest draw back of a larger led build is the tediousness of it all. Yeah he's going to go through some bits that's for sure. Tell him to pick up some thread cutting oil when he gets more bits. A couple of dabs of that stuff while your drilling goes a long way for making it a little bit easier. And your bits should last longer.

Agree with Corey.....Alittle cutting oil will do wonders.....You will go through quite a bit of bits, and as mentioned one of the drawbacks to a big build......

Yeah...the little hardware store in town are out....LOL...so he is gonna go the town I work in....we have an Ace, Walmart and a couple of hardware stores
he knew about the oil....just forgot it
UPDATE: NEXT STEP
My husand is now "tinning" all the leds....this prepares them for wiring (makes it easier to solder the wires on)
The LED must be tested before it is "tinned" to know which terminal on the LED is live...that is where the solder will be put
here is one done..see the 2 solder spots
and this one is being tested again AFTER the solder...Just to MAKE SURE
AFTER he is done with this....the LED's get attached to the heat sink
Hey Meowzer.....didn't forget about you....With all the flooding going on, nobody worked today, and probably won't return to work till Monday, but will be on it as soon as things get a little normal around town here.

Test the leds, make sure the screws aren't grounding out the circuits touching them.
We have use tiny nylon washers between the screw and the heatsink to keep them from grounding out....BUT more testing is yet to be done

Good idea, but shouldn't be an issue with the nylon washers, but anything can happen.....
Looks very good Meowzer....Tell Dan he can build mine when he's done....I'll even be nice and drill the heatsinks for him......
LOL......he worked all day on it again.....he works this weekend, so work will be minimal..... I think he would love for it to be done before October...BOW SEASON
He's a man on a mission......My nephew has been trying to con me out of my bow.....I haven't shot in 2 years.....Just can't see myself parting with it....but hey if the kid wants to hunt!!!!!!
