I do not recommend 150watts of MH on a 12gal. Just my 2cents.

no That's to much light. even you told me you were having problems. WHat are you changing yours to? I guess I'm not going to get the sunpod

heard that they have issues with bad ballast and exploding bulbs. Also the tightening screws are plastic that have a tendency of breaking. Sunpod also makes a 16.5" 70W HQI I think it retails for around 218~or so.

thank you so much salty! i didn't see it before...it sucks that the 150 watt is on sale...the 70 watt costs more. That's the light I will be getting

I am not changing my lights. Trying to work out the problems, doing some experiements on how long I can leave the lights on and so forth.

I will let you know but prolly by the time i let you know, you'll have your lights upgraded. By the way are you planning on using a chiller? Because the main problem Ive had was heat from the metal halides on such a small tank. Leaving the hood open didnt help in the summer. and during these winter times, it still can get up to 86-88degrees on my 14gal. I dont know how much higher it will be on ur 12gal
