Michigan.......

Is the 13th state to legalize medical marijuana.
This means that one-quarter of U.S population will live in a state that allows the use of medical marijuana.

Thoughts?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves... the proposal that passed only allows medicinal marijuana to be prescribed by doctors. Stoners, stay in California...

Good, in the way there definitely are some people in Michigan that this definitely helps. But the sad reality of that 95% of those who like to push medicinal marjiuna are just loser stoners, is upsetting.

I guess my question to you would be: Is being a loser a prerequisite for being a stoner?

Those that mask their personal motivation behind supporting 'medicinal marjiuna,' definitely a big yes. Those are the ones I'm referring to as losers.
The rest of 'em, that's a self determination.... But it certainly doesn't add points

Whats so bad about smoking marijuana? I mean I don't see smoking socially any worse than drinking socially. Besides the fact that its illegal, there is nothing wrong with smoking it IMO. And I know quite a few people that smoke marijuana that aren't "loser stoners".

In this state it is legal to grow and use for medicinal purposes, up to 6 plant under normal circumstances. Of course 2 different people have been busted with over 70 plants for their own medicinal uses.

Most (not all) of the people I know that smoked a lot (daily users) were pretty much stoned losers. May not be any worse than alcohol but it isn't any better either.

I've said my piece before on the locked marijuana thread, but basically I don't see a point to it, and haven't been given enough reason to change my opinion. As I see it, people 'get high' to help escape from real life. Forget problems, make jokes seem funnier (everyone who thinks it's cool to get high and watch a movie
), etc. Sorry, but if life's that bad, there's a problem somewhere else.
Comparing it to drinking is pretty irrelevant. Drinking doesn't affect anyone around you. I down half a bottle of Green Label, and no one knows. However, if someone lights one up in their apartment (I had first hand experience), it stinks the entire building up. How on earth are we going to be able to regulate that? What about instead if me above the person that always smoked, it was a mother with a young child? Lastly, people don't get high because they enjoy the process (enhaling a bunch of hot smoke). People drink, or at least they should, because it's good. If you don't like beer/wine, you aren't drinking the good stuff.
And before you say it, I don't support drunks either. Losers who drink too much are just as bad.

that my friend is the biggest CROCK o **** i have read in a long time!!!
its a proven fact that this countrys biggest addiction problem IS alcohol... not to mention how many deaths/injuries are alcohol related...
and also regulating it would be just as easy as alcohol and would bea "cash crop" for many American farmers...
and one more thing... there would be A TON less people in prisons and jails if marijuana was legalized...
