Well my wife got me a 12 gallon jbj cube. All it has for lighting is a 24 watt 50/50 10k bulb. I am going to focus on some low light stuff. I put some media in the cube from my big tank that has been there for a few weeks, kind of speed things up. So far the only fish I have decided on is a bi color blenny. Suggestions for stocklist are welcomed. Here are the early stage pics. Scaping is done, need to put some more sand in, Put in two mushroom frags from my daughters tank. I wont be puting in any fish or anything else till after christmas.

Thanks, my wife did the scaping "AROUND" the tank, It is on a tall shelf in the entry way of my house right at my eye level. Got to stand on a stool to do a water change.

its good to add the rock now before you add any LS because if you do the sand first it might move the rock little by little

Did you let this tank cycle before adding anything?
Read the first post. I used well established media rock and sand. The water is not what cycles a tank. I have set up numerous tanks with this method. If you do it properly you will never see a cycle. This is how alot of people get a hospital/quarantine tank up and going so fast.

I agree, I never truly cycled my 14G and it's been fine.
I think we've both agreed on this method in other peoples tank builds as well.
BTW, I really like the rock work. It's going to look great once you add coral. Can't wait to see what you do with this

These lights are causing surface algae to grow really fast. Wonder if there are any different lights to slow the growth? I need to get a good algae cleaner asap.
bswe22 where are you located?
