Hello everyone, I thought i would keep pictures and get advice on my on going of my 12g saltwater nano tank. I am currently filtering it and have 1 more week. I AM SO EXCITED!
I am new to saltwater so if you see something that should be different in my tank please feel free to tell me :)

YUP, I would definitely get some more rock, and position it so their are caves and nooks and crannies for the fish to swim thru and also hide in.
ALSO...Are you planning on getting any powerheads? (you should)
Is that crushed coral in there?

Koralia 1 will be good for the tank with nice flow. more rock will be

and everything else looks awsome!!!!

Yes that is crushed coral. My mom told me to put it in there.
I am planning on putting fish in there. I know i need more rock, i am going to get some more.

okay, so some good basic advice,, make sure to test your water before adding anyone... to make sure all your bad levels are are zero....
also have you thought about what you are going to put into the tank yet? sand sifting gobys are out because of the crushed corals,,, as with any wrase that burrows (though i dont think there is anything small enough that would fit anyways) so??? what are you thinking?
what books do you have also? there are some great ones out there to help pick out fisha and explain the setup and maintenace of tanks...

Yes i tested water everything is fine.. I talked to the guy at the fish store he said My tank seemed find to get a fish so we went ahead a purchased one, to see how he does thru the week. going to more rock from my mom tomorrow she has a lot.
Other then what i have right now, I was just looking at some clown fish maybe a coral later, I am going to get some more flow in my tank, like a koralia 1,before i get anything else tho.

I tested the salt in it and showed my mom she said it was good and showed me where to keep it on the tester thingy, lol. The tank it self has been filtering for almost a month now.
Clean up crew, it has crossed my mine cause i am getting green algae on the bottom of my tank and my rocks. What should i get? Oh thought i would post this pic of my daughter feeding our fish right before bed time :)

I have my lights fixed, and now that i'm back on track i was wondering what you guys would suggest for a cleaning crew?

cerith snails, nerite snails, nassarius snails, 1 orange turbo snail. 3 astrea snails. you should be good from there

So i got a star fish today and some more rock, and a cleaning crew! The star fish i got was a serpent starfish. He is itty bitty. Get picks when he comes out from hiding. I dripped him for awhile so i hope he takes well!

You probably won't see too much of the star....they hide and come out at night (if at all...LOL)
Did you get fully cured rock?
