Mixing clown species?

I've heard a few different responses to this when I did some searching.
What do you think about this? What is your reason behind your opinion?
So many interesting clown species, would like a few. ;)

we bought 2 black and white occularis clowns and put them with a orange occularis and they did ok for a few days but then they went bonkers on him and had him stuck in the corner of the tank! we couldn't even go near the tank to interact with them because he would come over and start begging and they would chase him and nip at him, so we took him out and took him to a LFS. he would have a better life there but we miss the little guy.

Mixing species in NOT recommended. 90% of the time it will not work. If you want to gamble with 10% and risk the life of a clown that had no choice in the matter....

This situation is different than what the OP was asking. You added a pair of Clownfish of the same species to a tank containing another single member of the same species. This isn't going to work because you had 3 Clownfish, it has nothing to do with the species of the Clownfish.
I'm only mentioning the spelling of the species "Ocellaris" just in case someone wants to do a search.

And Nemo always loses!
Seriously, Ocels and Percs are the smallest and probably the most docile clownfish, so if you try mixing species, they're the one's who are going to be the victim.
Of course, clownfish aren't the biggest swimmers, so if your tank is 75 or more, your success rate is probably going to be higher.
What species are you looking at mixing?
My personal story is that I tried to mix a Saddleback and an Ocel. Took me months and another dedicated 'pair of Nemos' tank to appease my wife after 'my' Saddleback harrassed 'her' Ocel to death.
