So, if this is what I get for being a fish and dog mom, what do I get once we have our own kids? A new car????? A bigger fish tank? *Hint hint*

I have to say. I was not a fan of LED's and I was very skeptical about them. But the guy who made this had amazing growth under them. There is definitely MORE shimmer in the water with these than with my halides (any of the 3 sets I've had). The colors pop so much more. I'm sold.

Hey nice score, congrats. It looks like a pretty well built rig. Would love to hear more about the specs, programable and what not. Just a little FYI, I was recently reading a thread of some guys who've had their diy led fixtures going for a couple years...they were talking about how moisture from the tank was degrading the starboards by not having a splash guard to shield them from evap. Might be worth looking into to help protect the investment, just a heads up. Tank looks good.

you need to convince meowzer. royal blue LEDs are by far more appealing than actinics
They most certainly are!

We will be putting up specs on them in a little bit. We actually have more than just these lights, just don't have other pics up. We also got a Fu Manchu Lionfish today. The lights don't have optics at the moment, so that's first, and then a splash guard.

The guy who made this particular light is moving so needed a smaller tank, that's how we ended up with the light, BUT he is making other units in different sizes so I'm going to be interested in where he goes with it. I saw a smaller unit he made over his 90 and it looked great.

and here I felt bad getting the missus her mom's day stuff thinking I spent too much at target. Well, the kids love her and she liked her stuff.

I'm thinking that this lion was either tank bred or at least tank raised. It is already coming to the top of the tank if we go near it and sticks his little head out of the water. I think it's looking/begging for food.... Would be great if it is already used to human interaction.

We do spoil each other, A LOT. It helps that we have the same hobby, so we can get away with buying things for the tanks and passing them off as"gifts" lol
On another note: my Fu ate PE Mysis last night!!!! Woohoo!!!!!
