I currently have a 75 semi reef tank with a couple korilla pumps. All the reviews i read state that the mp's is just an amazing power head for fish and coral growth. (although matched with an amazing price tag). Therefore, would it be adequate to have 2 mp10 and keep one of my korillas if needed for ($400) or buy the 1 mp40. I have read the mp10 are rated up to 50 gallons and the 40s are rated up to 50-500 gallons. I'm leaning towards the 2 mp10 and hoping i don't get an urge to upgrade lol.

if you can afford them get two mp40's .you can always turn them down.then someday when you get a bigger tank (and you will) you have them.i have 2 40's the best thing i have ever added to the tank.

I have (4) MP40's on my 280g and a MP10 on a 20g and love them all. I think in your scenario I would start out with one MP40 and I'm guessing that should be pretty sufficient, plus I agree with the others that having one MP40 will be much more useful in a future upgrade to a large tank than two mp10's

LOL...Jeff I have the 2 MP40's in the 225G and 2 Koralias on the back wall...a 1400 and a 1050
AS I am reading this I am contemplating buying another MP40 for the back wall

I was going to get another MP10 for the 54G.....BUT can not decide.......MP40 for big tank....and move one Koralia to 54G to go with the MP10 I already have......OR just get the MP10 for the 54G and keep the Koralias in the 225G.DECISIONS DECISIONS

For a 75, I'd probably do one 40 and one 10. Start out with one 40 and see how it goes. If you could swing the money for two 40's, you can always run them lower.
I have two 40's and a 10 on my 180. I've considered adding a second 10 on the back wall, but I also know that it is not completely necessary. I'm just concerned once my SPS colonies grow out. I have a 10 on my 30G, and because it's a 30 tall, I've had some issues finding the right placement for it.
I plan on putting a 10 or a used 20 on my 55G refugium as well.
