I got a new (used) MP40 for my 225G (HAD it with Koralias) anyway......I have 2 other MP40's
one is on the left side.....one is on the right.....and this one I am putting in the ctr back
OH YEAH.....it is not the Ecosmart model....
ANYWAY....as soon as I plugged it in....the color went to a peachy orange.....from what I read that means it is operating in anti-sync mode
IDK if that is what I want....LOL.....I run my MP40's in (yellow) reef crest random......so will this one also be running in that mode....only opposite of all the others

You have to clear the memory.
Hold down Mode and Set together, it will start flashing red/white/blue.
Hold Mode, it will start flashing red/purple.
Hold Set and it will reset.
That clears the memory and you can put it in the mode you want

Thanks Shawn....I have that manual saved...LOL
TL.....why can't I just leave it the way it is? It should be running the same as my others....only opposite.....right??

If it's not synched with the others, then yes when those 2 are running the other wouldn't and when the 3rd would fire the other 2 wouldn't be or reduced......The question is are they all in the same Reef Crest mode that you prefer.....There's no set rule that they all have to be operating in the same mode. You might have better results possible if they are, but a lot of things can dictate how the flow changes depending on your rock work layout.....
I haven't found 1 exact mode that I love.....There is 1 that I don't care for at all, but I find myself when the tank was running that I liked to switch between them every couple of days.......

YES...that is my question.....LOL....Do I have to totally reset the thing to find out the mode???? WHAT A PITA
Looking at my tank....the right side MP40 is master.....the left is a slave and runs opposite speeds of the master
right now I can see quite a bit of movement in the water column :)
I hate MESSING with stuff.....lol....in case you haven't figured that out yet ;)
I got sick and tired of the Koralias running backwards every time the power flickered
and BTLD was kind enough to find me a GREAT deal on an excellent MP40
SOOO I have 3 MP40's....a Koralia 3 (in a corner) the cascade with top flow bar.....sump return, fluval canister......IF THAT IS NOT ENOUGH
I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, you shouldn't have to totally reset or clear the memory of the original 2 PH's.......You should be able to toggle through and find the Reef Crest setting for the new addition MP40.....If I remember correctly when I set my MP60's even after swapping 1 of them for a new 1 I didn't have to clear the memory on the first 2, and only had to sync the new pump......

MP60's......I'm not a fan of the Vortech's programming....Tunze is a heck of a lot simpler.....Still looking at adding Tunzes to the mix myself....Tunze offers more adjust ability as far as positioning then Vortechs

WELL if you do go with them, LMK how you like them
Honestly I have had no issue with the MP40's (or MP10's) as far as operation...I just hate the programming :(

 I own both Meowzer.....my buddy is running my Tunzes on his tank right now. I love gadgets to I buy quite a bit. Would love a couple 6305's as well, but probably will get some 6088 for front corners up top mounting back and down. Have a mounting idea brewing...., the positioning aspect make the tunzes advantageous for certain applications where the Vortechs are a straight on shot IMO.

VERY INTERESTING......Since the removal of the 2 Koralias......the temp went from 80.6 down to 79.9
I LIKE THAT :)

Lois, I have 5 mp's in my tank. 2 40's on each side and a 10 on the back.
1 40 on each side along with the 10 run in nutrient transport mode and then the other 2 40's are anti sync of each other in reef crest.
It's whatever works for your tank.

YIKES....5....Well I sure hope what I have now works for me
My husband is insane! 3 was plenty. But then he wanted to get a third to replace the 10. But the 10 stayed. Then we were getting a 4th to replace it, but it's still there. I'm going to beat him if he spends another dime on any MPs!
