Well I have always wanted corals. I have seen many of your tanks on here and was getting ready to splurge some coin on a new tank when I came across this for sale.
I had extra sand laying round wrapped up nice and tightly and of course salt from future water changes. Took out some rock from another tank. Got home cleaned it up. Took some before pictures and started this thing up. What a dream. This thing is a joke to start vs my other tank.
I will be updating and bothering you all for lots of information. I think Im going to get some more sand tomorrow. Its not thick enough. Its about an inch. Id like to have atleast 2.
First question. My rock is obviously cured. Its just helping cycle the tank. I plan on buying different rock to design it a certain way. should I make the switch asap or can i wait till the tank cycles and add more cured rock?

I will probably buy some more pieces of rock next weekend. Will add more sand on Saturday.
I plan on having two Black and white Clowns with maybe a shrimp goby.

the lights are dual daylight and actinic 24watts. Has a built in ballast???
whatever that means. They are bright as hell. I was not expecting them to be and when i hit the switch to turn them on I blinded myself.
Im a fish only guy and have decent lighting nothing fancy. I know you need the power of the sun in your hand to help corals correct?

I did a complete test. Im actually pretty amazed right now. Nitrits are at 0 ammonia is at 0 and odd thing is my ph is way off. Its only at 7.5. I just added some pH buffer and will wait to see what happens.

I must say this rock is stunning. Full of color and life. Very heavy though for the size. I bought about 11 pounds of the actually LR and then 4 pounds of base rock to support it. The dead piece on the right I think I can make interesting. I wanted to keep some sand and allow hiding places. See what happens.
Tank is cycling now with the rock. be ready to go soon!

Getting pics ready now.

water is very cloudy due to me messing with it. Take a day or so to clear it again. Lots of hiding places. Yes its next to my computer. My tower is not near it if it leaks.
