My 180 Build

I bought a used 180 gallon with two overflows in each back corner. The stand was kinda wobbling so I ended up building a new stand and canopy. I have had a 100 gallon for about a year now and I wanted something I could place a sump under. And It made a good excuse to get a bigger one.
Comments are appreciated.
Thanks

I use three coralife Metal haliades and 2 actenic vhos.
The tank has 4-#4 hydors and two mag drive return pumps.
Coralife Super Skimmer 220.
Light fixture and bulb from lowes for the refugium.
A Pacific Coast Imports CL-650 chiller.
Few more pics

some coral that I have so far.
I want to get a leather and a clam soon.....maybe a plate coral also.
For some reason I think my bubble tip anenome made its way into one of the hydors. When I came home from work today it was in two pieces stuck to a rock????
Guess I will have to get another bta also.
Does anyone know if they can heal from something like this?
The pieces are next to each other on the same rock. Not sure if
I should remove them or let them be?

Do you think maybe the stress of the move made it split?
You have any pics?

I was thinking the same thing....maybe it split...if it was sucked into the hydor it would probably be mushin

I have had this BTA for about a year now. It was one of the few items that survived Ike. My clown is trying to host my hammer coral right now. She is pissed.

They have been like that since I found them yesterday. It was fine Tuesday night so it happened between Tuesday night and wednesday at 5. They have moved around since then. Do they split like this as reproduction?

Anemones can reproduce by fission - just splitting apart.
This can often be triggered by a sudden change in water chemistry or quality, so if you just moved it into this new tank, a split is entirely normal. Expect him to look a little worse for wear for a few days, splitting is a very energy consuming process that leaves both offspring weak for a short while.

Should I change to T5 HO or up the wattage on my MH???
I have started to get a few sps pieces and have been told 150 mh are kinda pushing it??
I was thinking of the tek 8x48 fixture, but concerned because it does not have any fans built in.
Thanks for any advice and input.
Sorry.... on the work computer and cant access the pics to post another thread in equipment.

For that money, you could get the Nova Extreme 8x54W T5HO light with 4 lunars. And it has one fan.

I have read that people don't like them as much as a tek fixture because they don't have individual reflectors. Do you think that will make that much of a difference. And prefer t5 over mh??

Don't go with the Nova. Buy the Tek. I went thru 4 Nova fixtures with each of them having bad ballast in 5 months.

The Nova extreme 8x54W is a SLR fixture. Doesnt this mean that it has individual light reflectors? Or is it just the opposite?

The nova extreme is a single light reflector(slr) meaning it has only one reflector but the nova extreme pro has the individual reflectors,I have the pro over my 120 reef and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade
