My 20 Gallon long tank build

alright hey nano'ers, got lots of new stuff to report. first off i removed a small piece of live rock from my tank so i get better flow. secondly my koralia 1 broke
. Thirdly my tank finished cycling. my ammonia and nitrites are at 0 and my nitrates are at 5-10. so to celebrate i bought a nice sohal tang and a panther grouper.
no i didnt.

alright seriously though i got 1 turbo snail, 3 nass snails and a clump of chaeto with lots of nice hitchhikers like mini brittle stars and stuff. pics in a bit.

are you putting the chaeto directly in your tank? Don't most people put them in their secondary tanks? The reason I ask is because I have a 20g stand alone system but have nitrate problems. I want to add some chaeto but dont know if I can.

You can add to your display. Just wedge into some rocks or get a shower caddy with suction cups from Wally World.

Your water level on your sump seems a little high. I don't know how that is going to work if your power cuts off. You might have an overflow.

mary, thanks for the concern but to test out the system i pulled he return pumps plug to simulate a power outage and the sump could handle the excess water.

yeah the tanks all good. once i get some more money im gonna get this puppy stocked up. the chaeto is the most excitment ive had over the tank yet. i spent like half an hour staring at the brittle stars and stuff that was in it.

oh yeah how long does it take for nass. snails to come out and move in a new tank? its been a day and no movment so im sorta nervous. thanks

no i mean that they have not moved off the sandbed from where i first placed them in the tank. no burrowing or anything
