My Clown is really starting to annoy me...

So my clownfish has decided he is going to spend all his time in the back corner behind the rocks... day and night. He almost never comes out, and when he does its during feeding time and even then he seems really reluctant. When I first got him he was all over the tank, but now that he's settled in he decided to make his home someplace out of sight and difficult to get too (I really, really don't want to have to rearange my LR again). It is my understanding that once a clown gets used to the tank, he will choose a spot and make it his home. Unfortunately, it seems like my clown chose the worse possible spot in my tank (for viewing anyway).
So is there anything I can do to remove him from this spot and encourage him to settile in someplace in sight? I'm starting to feel like if he's not going to ever be seen, he's wasting space in my tank.

How long did you have your clown? Does any other fish bother it?

yea... strange... it sucks but you may have to re-arrange the rock works a bit if it bother you that much. You can wait and see for couple of more weeks if you like.
My clown just swims on top of my tank and doesn't really settle down any where near the rocks...

Yeah I really don't want to do that... I really like my rock arrangement atm lol... Think maybe getting a 2nd clown would make the one currently in the tank more sociable?

Well, your clown and my clowns are cosmic twins....Mine have been living behind the rocks for over a year, I rearranged the rock to no avail. I didn't care because I had other fish to watch, but since these and the dottyback are all that are in there....I too am not happy with them.
Clowns never do anything but hover in the same corner, only coming out to eat. If an anemone is in that corner they will wiggle and wollow it...whoopy...You know what...I don't like them.
Of all the fish that could have died during the black out...I wish it were those hardy usless critters and not my tang. If it sounds cruel oh well...those fish suck. I will be rehoming them as soon as I find someone stupid enough to want them.

LOL..Flower..you are funny
My clowns in all 3 tanks have a spot to call their own......yes, they come out to eat...and then retreat to their "spot" I love them anyway

My anemone is in the center of my tank, which make the clowns the center of my tank.

It was a sabre mine hosted too. I was so happy, then the anemone moved to the back of the tank behind the rocks and there my clowns have been ever since.
I am going to find them a new home..... nearly every person with a saltwater tank has a clown fish and don't want or can't add another. These fish are almost as old as the hippo was, they lived in the 75g. They are just little corner huggers. They used to host my canister filter tubes but I got a sump now they don't even do that. Thay are cute fish with cool colors and the grandkids like them. Maybe if I keep chasing them out of the corner with a stick they will find another spot. LOL...Maybe I could put a fake anemone in the center of the tank....Stick a black tube in the center so they can relate to it.

lol, I think my clown is weird reading everyone else's fish behaviors. Mine just swims back and forth on the top of the tank and just stays there...

Well, all I can say is my female sleeps in a rock and the male hovers by her side. lol They use to host hair algea, but now that thats gone, they host a rock.
My little one hovers next to the hoverflow. Clowns are funny little fellows.
