we have two other dogs also.no dogs on the bed when we sleep.when i brush my teeth for bed and turn the corner they jump off.they all get along pretty good once in a while the pitt starts trouble but no big deal.out of the 6 dogs 3 are pound dogs and one a stray from our old neighborhood.

So in your real life, your a doggie hero

Well to a whole house full of heros...Thank You, firefighters are heros and so are those who rescue dogs from pounds and keep them as thier own. I believe Scotts is another house full of Heros, don't they take in the mommy dogs with puppies?

i need to get you a pic of my friends shepard.it strolled in the neighborhood a few years ago .he kept him and nobody seemed to be lookikg for him.dont know why he looks as pure breed as could be.he named him general.the firefighter thing is fun .alot of work especially the fundraisers .we just took our engine to the local homecoming parade.that was cool.also fun when we do traffic control for accidents and people dont slow down we kick the side of their car :0)

Flower, your dogs are gorgeous. I believe that German Shepards are a special breed. They can be very loyal and trained to do many things, but they require specific and continuous training. If not trained properly, they can be very unpredictable. I was almost attacked by a German Shepard and I can say this experience has scared me away from owning the breed.
Here's a pic of my dog:

Ah Gimmy any dog has to be trained...Shepherds are not anymore unpredictable than any other breed, but they are animals. Everyone who is a dog owner needs to find the dog that best fits their lifestyle and family. That's why there are so many breeds, there is something for everyone.
Love your Sheltie, he/she looks very sweet. ...LOL and just a spoiled as my fur babies.

I totally agree with you that every dog needs to be trained and I agree that people need to find the right dog for their family. I think I have a biased opinion since I work in the pet industry. I see too many people come in with a dog that clearly doesn't fit with their family (that's where we get our pet trainer to help them out). I am a dog person and respect all breeds. I just apporach German Shephards with caution.
And you got it right my dog is completely spoiled. See all her toys:

LOL...I knew it your dog would be spoiled I could just sense it. My male dog takes care of his plastic bath toys, they last him for years..he so careful to keep them, a little nibble here and there, but stuffed toys are de-stuffed and only the skin remains for play…no ball is safe from his jaws. Tamerah loves anything she is allowed to chew on and the de-stuffed toys she loves to flip around and play catch by herself.
If the big dog is not your dog...always approach with caution..Especially a Shepherd, Doberman, or a dog in the pittbull family. These breeds may love their owners but strangers and non-family are regarded as a threat by them. I’m sure it’s true of other breeds as well, but those I am very familiar with and know about.
A dog does not have to be trained to be aggressive, they need to be trained to listen and obey. Being protective comes naturally. Shepherd are unbelievably smart, Their IQ is way up there for dogs.

heres a cool one of him
He is beautiful!
I know I've put up a bunch of Riley, but he's just so cute I'll add some more. These first 2 were after a blizzard last winter. The 3rd is of him resting after playing in the snow...

And one more, guarding the baby area on a camping trip last weekend...

Yup! The snow was about shoulder deep on him and he just loves to bound around in it. I have to shovel an area for him to do his business, but for just running around, the deeper the better.
Very cute dog and I can't wait to get a house so I can have a bigger dog that can leap through the snow like yours does. I have numerous reasons for wanting a bigger dog, but I'm content with my sheltie until that can happen. My dog only likes it when the snow is less than 3 inches, and she has a blast. If it goes deeper, I have to walk her to the parking lot to do her business.

Woo woo, I love dog threads. Let me get some pictures up of my 4.
Flower...love seeing the progress of her, I remember when you first got her.
DeeJeff...I'm so glad to see someone with as many huge dogs as me too!

the size of them really isnt a big deal.at least i dont have to watch where i walk to step on one of them.although now that the mastiff is getting heavy he still thinks he fits on my lap.cant wait to see when he puts on the next 100 lbs if he thinks he still fits.luckily he is already lazy.i would feel all alone if we didnt have at least 4 dogs.
