please critique my fug....my tank has been up and running for 10 months now all has been great except one bout of ick...I got lucky was able to get all fish in qt only lost one clown cause he jumped out..I had them in hippo for 9 weeks and now all doin great...Any way my tank is 90g with overflow..
my filter system is set up in my basement right under the tank on 1st floor..water flows from dt into wetdry my skimmer is in wetdry then water flows into right side of a 55g this is where i place my carbon...55g has a divider more then half the tank is fug with deep sand bed, cheto, and bout 30lbs live rock...water then flows into camber with 2 heaters and return pumps.
I am the type that loves to experiment and can build anything (master plumber)...I would like opinions if this is good set up, you cant hurt my feelings so go ahead and give it to me

I am curious about the pump size as well, I like the long cave you have the only thing I probably would change the rock in front so it is not so much the same shape, JMO - beautiful tank.

Is the rock Leaning against the back wall of your tank? Is it good to have it up against the back of the tank or should you just try to keep it in the middle of the tank??

thanks for all the comments......rocks are not leaning on back wall they are all securely stacked...I sometimes think of moving or removing that rock in the front but it creates a really cool cave and looks awesome from the side view......yes that is two mag 18, with my set up I have to go with submersible pump and mag 18 was the biggest I can find, I had just 1 running till this weekend when I added the second one.....I was not happy with flow coming back to tank just seemed weak approx. 12' from pump to top of DT....I screwed 2nd mag 18 into 1st one and now the flow is perfect, very strong but does not overpower 1" return line

yeah loading up on corals is my next step...I have a few and cant wait to start adding lots more color....I did not want to go crazy until I was confident in my setup...think after 10 months its time to start making this thing look the way it should

Awsome set up, I am going to try to do the same thing plumbing it into the basement, please don't take offense to my comment about the cave, it looks great some more rocks in front of it might break up the line a bit. Any idea what the flow rate is? It has to be at least 700 GPH or more.

for the number of fish you have in your dt, compared to the gallons in your total system (close to 200 gal?) your bio load is very small unless you are way over feeding. even then it looks like your filtration would handle it well. and like i said tank looks real clean! so its that time for corals!!!!!! and a lot of them lol

according to manufacture mag 18 at 12' of head is 750gh...I have two plumbed in in parallel so doubt its 1500gh but it is very high flow

If i am not mistaken, parallel will only increase your pressure not flow, two pumps in SERIES will increase your flow +/- 2X. Thanks for the info

I have to admit I kind of put the tank on the back burner when my newest hobby arrived this summer..but now that the winter is coming fast I gonna start focusing more time on it

Al you are correct, if you notice when in the pic you see a tee in the return line coming down to a ball valve that is shut of...when I bought the 2nd mag18 this is how I plumbed it (which is parallel)..I did not notice any difference in flow rate coming back to tank so I unscrewed pump and installed it in series with first pump and now Im very satisfied
