Got my first hitchhiker today WOOT WOOT

Its some kind of lobster, white with little purple dots all over it about 2 1/2 inches

There is no way it's a mantis shrimp. I would be a little careful with him for the time being. Put him in your sump or an isolation tank till you can get more info. He sure is cool looking.

i thought purple lobsters had red in them, is he stressed and
faded in color till he gets used to his new home?

Mine didnt have that much red,Mine was also light in color when i bought him but he was on thr small side. How big is your tank? He'll ususally hide and you wont see much of him.

Eats lots of stuff, try to feed a variety, not so much a vegatarian, meaty foods are better. Not that hard to take care of.
