Come to think of it....how on earth did you fit that many VHO bulbs over a 10 g tank??

A new aspect of the hobby for me. I feel I can give better advise if I've actually done something vs knowing the theories.

Bang...Nice Nano!!:D
On a side note I thought 18" VHO bulbs were 30 watts each not 40 so I checked UV Lighting Company's (formerly URI) web site and they also have the 18" VHO bulbs listed at 30 watts. Do you have something different? Pehaps older bulbs?

Nope. I read the wattage from the Champion site where I bought the bulbs. Apparently their chart is wrong. Thank you for finding that :) Although it does seem odd that the VHO 18" is only twice the output of NO. What are the chances of URI being wrong? LOL (About 0.00%)
hmmmm Maybe I should just add the 4th bulb anyway.
More power!! Scottie, I need more power!!!!

My thoughts exactly. Maybe that is why some people (including myself) have reported some sucess with smaller tanks... by packing 6 or eight bulbs over the tank:thinking:
At any rate for the sake of end results on the nano I thought you might be interested.
Can't wait to see it in a year. Good Luck!

The Clownfish are doing well...
Just so the Clown police know, the Clowns will be about 1.5" in december. They are going to the Lagoon at the end of the contest.
This isn't a case of "I'm getting a bigger tank", it's a case of "the bigger tank is 3 feet away".

Well, tuningvis and bigarn have hinted, but I'll just say it: exactly how does one assemble little PVC parts to make a skimmer? Is there a "skimmers for dummies" book I should be reading? You see, I'm a woman for whom a DIY project is putting nail polish on at home instead of going to a Nail Salon...

You've mentionned adding a 4th bulb more than once, it's obviously weighing heavy on your mind, I think you might as well go for it

It looks like Bang just came down with some 2x6's from the joices, and then created a platform. I don't ever remember doing that in my high school wood shop :jumping:

Either Bang defies gravity or Bang gets a bigger house.
NICE TANK.
They know you by name at the plumbing aisle, don't they?
