Thanks for thecomment nwdyr but that is an Orchid Dottyback and i believe it is Purple. But yeah it seems to change colors from time to time. Sometimes its a blueish tint and then most of the time it looks purple. Its one of the most prettiest colors i think

AHHHHH I NEED HELP ASAP..... MY FIRE SHRIMP IS DYING I THINK. I just noticed that it was sitting on the sand and my orchid dottyback was picking at him. I looked and its not mving but its mouth is moving like crazy and its legs are barely kicking but the first time i tried to pick it up it scooted away but then fell to the sandbed again and the nassarius snails was all over it within seconds , so i picked it u again and placed on top of the rocks. AHHH IT IS JUST LOOKING SO SAD. ITs legs jump like it is paralyzed or something. I know when youa re paralyzed you dont move. But IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO ?

Well i guess it didnt make it. Poor shrimp. Does anyone think i need to do a water change ? I mean it just died and i got it out as soon as it died if not right before it died. And i just changed water yesterday already :( I have had it almost a year with no problems. All my water checks out fine. My Peppermint and Cleaner shrimp are just fine. My 2 Clowns and orchid dottyback and yashia goby are excellent. :( Poor Orchid Dottyback seems like he is missing his buddy now. I had them two the longest in my tank and the dottyback seems to keep swiming all around the tank and alot around the spot where the fire shrimp would hang out. :( Ahh i think its as sad as me. Or maybe wondering where his meal went. I dont know.

Well i am sure glad for the help i received earlier...NOT. Didnt get any responses or help at all :( I guess my poor shrimp couldnt molt and died :( Thats what the lfs said it probably was since my water is just fine. AHHH. i am so upset about the poor guy.

Thanks for the comment RebelPrettyBoy. I appreciate it. And yeah i am sad about it. Hey i wonder if fish and things have emotions or miss things ? Because i have had my Orchid Dottyback and fire Shrimp just about the same time. I cant remember if i got them at same time or not but had them the longest in the tank and i sware my orchid dottyback had some stringy looking stuff coming from its eyes when i was removing the poor shrimp. Tears ? I am wondering i dunno myself but though maybe someon else would. It was also swimming all around the tank and in the shrimps hiding spot numerous times. Do fish sense when a tankmate dies ?

Ok so im looking in my tank this morning to check on my fish. And i only see one clown :( I am like ahhh. I open the lid and check the rear chambers. THERE she is. WTF IS Going on. I mean come on. Then i try to get the darn thing out and it wants to play hide and seek or something. I have to end up pulling all the bio balls out, all the sponges out, then it goes into the chamber with the intake. im like come on maan for real. So i pull out the pump and after about 30 minutes i finally get it out. SHOULD I DO A WATER CHANGE NOW ? SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS OH BTW I JUST CHANGED the water sunday.

It wont hurt to do a water change but if you just did one and the tests are ok i would not do one JMO. My clowns also like to swim at the top , more so at nite
A few weeks ago I lost one like that , he jumped in the back chamber and got stuck in the pump
. I had a similar looking algae in my tank i toof it out , all that stuff scares me a little b/c it spreads sooooo fast , then its too late! I would take it out just to be safe

Not sure what kind of algae it is but I have a patch of the exact same on one frag that I have moved away from all live rock as it does spread REALLY fast. Now it just looks alright and my hermits love to munch on it. I will post a pic later to show yah. Tanks looking great.
Oh by the way my zebra goby went into my back chambers 8-10 times in a row....talk about pissed off I was screaming at it. But I would just put my net in the top and walk away for about 15 minutes then when I came back he was chilling at the top and "scoop" back into the DT he goes. Hasn't done it for about 2 weeks now. Just at the beginning.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. NWDYR & Peef. I appreciate it. Yeah man i just had to rearrange most of my rocks because i dont know why but they wont stay put like they did before :( I mean it kinda esembles what it used to look like but they are a little more lower than what i was wanting but oh well its all good. I got my fish back n tha tank and he is eating good so i am guessing he didnt get too stressed out about it. Ill do a water change friday i mean unless something in my tank disappears. In that case ill do one immediately. But JBJ Nano Cube is scheduled for me to change water on it today and i only have enough water for it and have to drive 40 minutes to get more s/w. Well anyways. I have been trying to get these rocks straight now for like an hour. AHHH so freaking annoying.

Man, you should totally make your own sw. It is way more cost effective and you don't have to drive 40 minutes. Sheesh I would never do that.

well its only 1.30 a gallon and i already know its perfectly mixed and never had a problem with it . Plus usually when i buy it always buy some type of coral or something or need fish food as well so i always get everything at once. Also go to a store in that same area. Its not that i just drive all the way out there just to get water everytime but i have done that before but usually i go to a walmart that is close to there also.

Yes thanks for noticing that this tank seems dark. I was thinking the same thing for like the last few weeks :( I am wondering if that is why all my zoanthids died off :( Nothing else has seem to have had a problem though. will be a year in september so i guess i will be saving for new bulbs. And yes i want to get more corals for this tank too but with how dim the lights are i dunno what would do great :) I think i am gonna add an Acanthastrea to it. Might try to frag that purple one i have. It seems to be growing 1/4th of an inch everysingel day. LOL. its done starting to spread onto the rock of that new acan i just put in my nano cube. lol. But as you know i feed them like crazy.

Hows the duncan do in the tank? and how often you feed it? Whenever I get one i wanna place it on the clam next to my war coral igh up in the tank...

The duncan i feed about 3-4 Oraglo pellets everyday or every other day. And mysis about every other day. Sometimes it doesnt like the mysis but it seems to love those pellets :) hehe. and mine isnt really high up. I dont think they like high lighting. Mid range lights i think they do best :)
