Great news on the 3 months...

Only about 13 more to go to know how well it is really doing

Yeah I know, but its worth it. I understand your love for these animals more then ever. I was watching mine glide across the sand earlier, like it was floating. Beautiful creature

Really? clownfish eggs? That's fascinating. Hmmmm......I wonder how processed some of the various fish eggs used in sushi are, and if they would eat those.

Thats a thought. If they will eat fish eggs keeping these in the home aquarium would be MUCH easier.

I would still presume it to be an individual preference at this point, and it may still not be enough to keep one in a tank that is not otherwise suitable.

Well keeping anything a tank that is not suitable isnt good lol.
But maybe something for the starfish person to check out lol. Would be cool to find out as it would save ALOT of stars lives.
My petstore had prob fifty of these things for sale orange, blue, burgandy and formia and I wanted one so bad but I knew it was a no no for my tank. I have the rockwork just not old enough nor want to put something in my tank for it to die. But it would be awesome to find out some kinda food source they eat then you could soak them in vitamins to get all the extra stuff to keep them going.

Why is it hard to keep these stars alive and healthy in your RT ? What do they eat ?
They are no harm towards coral ? They can't go over it and harm them ? I have 25 corals in my DT from top to bottom.

Their diet is poorly known but they will not take to spot feeding and rely on at least 150lbs minimum of LR (in a tank over 100g) to have a chance of survival. They do not eat algae or detritus.

Ophiura have you kept one for the 13mth period you mentioned. I have never had a starfish and really have my eye one. It looks very healthy and has been at the LFS for 2 weeks.
