I think you have the right idea in taking it slow and definitely get rid of the damsels if you want a community tank.
Has the anemone perked back up?
They look great!!! The rock anemone has more color, it went from a pail tan to a nice rusty brown, i started adding iodide to boost the levels in the tank for the inverts.
I am going to make a fish trap this week and one by one take the damsels to the LFS,
i am going to use the pop bottle trick. I will report back on how effective it is. **fingers crossed** (other wise next week i will take all the rock out and get all 5 of them at the same time)

I'd be very, very careful with adding iodide to the water. If you are not testing the iodide levels, do not dose with it. If I may ask.. why are you seeing a need to dose with it? If you use quality salt, the proper amount of iodide is already in your water.

...I take offense to that as i'm sure everyone else did who read it. None of us are here to sell said person's anything. We're all here because we love anything and everything saltwater fish and enjoy imparting our experiences and wisdoms in our hobby.

Perhaps you didn't understand my point; you might want to take this time to reread and make an attempt to comprehend.
It is unfair for you to stereotype all LFS as being idiots because they are trying to sell you something, just as it is unwise to believe everything you read on the internet.

The iodide is needed to promote healthy molting of the crabs i have in the tank. I have added very small amounts, to help raise the level.
The product i am using is made by Searchem and is targeted for reef tanks, i have added only a mere fraction of the suggested amount, to insure a healthy water quality for inverts.

Good! I hope you also test your levels. I don't dose mine and have my 2 Skunk Shrimp and Fire molting about every 2.5-3 weeks. I did dose 2 months ago and ended up killing on Skunk. His shell cracked in 3 places and that afternoon he was dead. I did not test my iodine level which I do now. Since then I have not dosed.

ok, last time i will answer dumb questions; when did i say i took more stock in what the LFS tells me. Why would you even ask such a question when it is obvious that i started this thread to ask the opinions of others in this hobby. I HAVE to deal with the LFS and that is where i will buy most of my items and fish, SO being that i have to deal with them making a good rapport and listening to what advice i they have to give IS the smart option. I make the decisions and am responsible for what happens; on what i do and don't do with my tank.
So here is the answer: save your drama for some other thread, because this one will be about my new fish tank and questions i have (or observations i make) and not about silly questions that are a waste to ask, if even a little thought was given before asking them.

thanks for the information, i will be very careful to test the levels before adjusting the water again, what levels are you running currently in your tank and perhaps what would be the ideal target level to keep?

Glad you are enjoying the hobby. I know some people seem a little opinionated, but it is just that we are so passionate about the hobby. Please don't take anything personal.
The anenomes are fun when they are healthy. Are you spot feeding them? When I have company this is the big entertainment.LOL

Just make sure you are doing weekly 10% water changes and checking levels. You shouldn't need to dose with anything then, but if you do the rule of thumb is only dose what you check for.

They really are great looking, while i haven't spot fed them, when i feed the fish they seems to consume a fair amount of the different foods i use. What do you spot feel your anemone with?

When I had a Condi, I fed him krill once a week. If you lighting is not enough, you really need to spot feed him other than hoping that he gets some from the water column.

some pics of the different anemone in my tank

here are two of them.
and ok here is my first attempt, i know the angles are wrong and the lighting is different, but this is just a test.

on the back of that same rock is where one of my sally crabs roams. This guy is very hard to get a picture of, i am sure in the near future i will get a good one of him, i bet if i didn't have the damsels they woul be more active.

Usually whatever I'm feeding the fish I'll give her her own. I call all my fish she's.

They will eat anything meaty. (shrimp, fish, squid, clam, etc)

those anemones are rock anemones. Here i can go to the beach at night and look along the seawall and collect them. they do not need stong lighting but they need to be fed silversides 2 to 3 times a week.

i don't think the guy i bought the tank from was doing a very good job of taking care of it, however with new bulbs they seem have alot more color in them now. They have taken krill/brine shrimp/squid/mysis shrimp, but nothing live.
How do you go about feeding them with a "silverside"?

ok so my CB shrimp was acting all weird and hiding the first two weeks, the shrimp had a very yellowish tint to it's pleopod then just this evening i see the shrimp climb out and raise up and eject out thousands of these tiny little swimming things, which i would imagine was her clutch. I just happed to be there just at the right moment, meqanwhile my damsels were going to town eating them up. LOL

Now what is even crazier, i have about a dozen very small snails roaming the tank glass when i turned on the light this morning.

Ok new action with headlessfish's fish tank:
ok well i used the bottle trick

i poked A hole in the top and attached a CF rod so i could spin the opening towards the tank glass. with a little food it took less then a minute to capture the "5th wheel" fish

and the LFS gave me 12 small blue tank cleaner crabs.
