Had to get the lights and and canopy from the other tank in order to move the retro-fit lights over to this tank, I used the same canopy but in a larger size, here are the before and afters, only dif in the canopy was the extra 6" in depth.
old canopy, 72" long but only 18" depth

new canopy with same lights, but lots bigger

Tank with new canopy and lighting

Ok, there's something wrong with the cat being the only one interested in the new tank.....LOL this is "Lump" the cat that does absoultley nothing

looks good so far, I like the tank and stand/canopy, nice stuff.
Is this your final aqua scape? It looks nice but I really think you could do a lot better. Have you ever thought about trying something different, maybe a two island look with a nice little valley in the middle.? Maybe a little more swimming room for fish and room for corals to grow. Sometimes less is more(sounds funny coming from me with my packed tank but im working on that)...
Don't take this the wrong way, and after all this is your tank that you have to look at it everyday, but the big mound of rock/rock wall look isn't the most attractive or natural looking; plus it doesn't serve very well for maintenance concerns. I can only imagine how much still detritus build up you will have along the back wall and under that huge mound of rock. Under the SPS keeper forum over @ -- there is a great thread titled, "Do you have nice aquascaping? if so let's see it.." You should check it out, it has some great ideas and input along with some pics of some awesome tanks.
Looks good and cant wait to see what you do with it.

I'm way ahead of you on this one, main thing was that I simply had to get the tank all inhabitants out of the store, I would say that I'll end up taking out about 1/3 of the LR. I was really rushed and had to do all this in one day, I kinda had an idea of what I wanted to do, but the LR just kept pilling up and pilling up....In a few days I'll redo the whole thing

In post number 3 it has a pumping xenia at the left, what is the coral that looks to have the same type of arms at the right?...(couldnt get the pic to copy and paste.)

I believe the proper word here is SICK Max. You know those Umbrellas are going to do nothing but grow to even MORE sizes now right? The two of them with the Kenya make a nice trio of mature, tall corals to build around don't they?
I sent you a PM about fraggin' some of those high-end zoas I've got, not sure if you've had a chance to see it yet. Lookin to get together tomorrow or Sat if you're free. If not let me know when you're free ok? Since you're all done with this new tank, I'm sure you have all kinds of free time on your hands now eh....LOL.
Cheers,
Rob

Wow, I think it looks great as is! Also, your room came out great. I love the paint job you did on the wall behind the tank. Is it a venetion plaster? If so, I feel the pain on doing that. I did an entire large room of that. Swore I would never do it again. Unfortunately that was four years ago and now it needs to be "refreshed", so I be at it again! Your floors and furniture all look really nice too. It all "blends" really nice. Great job on it all!

Thanks guys!.
Figured it was time for an update, life's been really crazy so the tank was kinda on hold for a while, kinda cool to setup a new tank like this and not have a cycle....LOL
Removed about 100lbs of LR, I'll replace it with 50lbs of really nice tonga branch thats on it's way, will take a few weeks to cure. Remember that this is a LPS/Zoa/softie tank so the aquascaping is a little different. I plan on fragging all my zoa's onto the tonga branch, then LPS and softies in the rockwork.
I actually removed all the LR and started over as I realized that I forgot to place the maxijets and Koralias behind the LR. There are a total of 4 hidden powerheads that are mounted at the bottom of the tank, some aimed up, some aimed thru and 2 that are aimed sideways, this ensures that there is very little detritus buildup, plus there's tons of space behind the LR.
I thought I was going to lose one of my crocea's as his entire foot was ripped off in a freak accident, but he's now fully opened and looks like I can see a new foot creaping it's way into the LR
Ended up fragging my monster Kenya into 2 huge frags, if you can call them frags @ 14" across, they look so freakin tiny in the photos
Full tank shot, sorry it's a little cloudy, was mucking around in the fuge.

The aquascaping looks much better now
I think the tonga will add a nice touch, and be a nice place to grow zoas.
