I sold my house and moving out by June. My current tank stays with the house since it is in the wall tank.
My new house is not ready until sept. So I am moving into one of my other houses for now. So I have to have a tank built to hold my fish. I measured my master bedroom and a 96 X 24 X 30 was a perfect fit. Just happened to be 300.
Does that explain the extra 50 gallons?

Forgot to add New owner will let me keep my fish 60 days past close of escrow in the tank. Should give me 105 days total to have my new tank cycled and all fish in it.
I am buying him $1000 worth of new fish and teaching him how to take care of it for the rental of his (my old) tank.
I will also have my fish service guy clean and take care of the tank once per week on my dime until my last fish is pulled out of the tank.
So unless this guy under or over feeds the fish should not be a problem. Plus I am only 20 mins away.

Well I guess you could say that. But you dont have to be to have these tanks.
The 300 is about $10K for tank and equipment. No wood work, fish, sand, rock etc.
The 1000 is about $31K plus the other stuff I said in the 300.
So maybe about $50K to $55K with everything but fish and reef. I now get all fish, reef, rock, sand etc.. for wholesale so that will save alot of money.

didn't mean to come off snotty if thats how you took it, but that does explain it.. i thought you got to keep the 250, and were just upgrading to a 300 just because its bigger.. but now i know, you just want a bedroom tank, and living room (or wherever) tank.
hope everything goes well, it all sounds good
, keep us updated.

Here are some new pics from ATM today. I changed the single filter to a double stack. It is also missing the UV, lights, Air Pump, Ozone, and some other small things. Should be done by monday.
Picked up 500 Lbs of Walt Smith Premium Fiji Live Rock, and 180 lbs of Arag Alive Aragonite Fine Reef Sand.
Tanks has 8 returns on the Top, 2 on the back, and 2 from the bottom. Has the 2 large overflow boxes on the back, and 2 intakes on the bottom.
Will have 3 pumps. Open, closed, and 1 just to push water. This things should move like the ocean.
I should have a 500 gallon holding tank there for water changes next week.

1000 Gal will cost about $35K no fish.
This tank is abot $10K, + fish which I already have, rock, sand and wood work when it move to my other house.
Then all fish come out and reef goes in. No Idea what the total reef project will cost. Find out in about 6 months.

10K for the 1000 gal? Ouch, I can think of at least 2 tank builders here in the orange county area that could have done it for half that, or done a 2000 gal for the same price
Regardless, 10k isnt bad for the 1000. Alot of places would have charged alot more for that.

Read it again. The 1000 gallon is costing me $35K
The tank is $6250. Then add up all the stuff on top of that. Gets to about $35K with custom wood work. I priced every single item out online and found the cheapest site and atm still beat the price. I got top of the line stuff for every item on the big tank. Went overkill on it, but better to have to much then not enough in my eyes.
Trust me ATM is giving me the best price around. I shopped it everywhere. Besides there is no giant tank builders in OC. ATM is the one of if not the largest in the USA. Take a look at there site. They do most of the hotels in vegas.

I got the 550 gallon holding tank today and filled it with catalina water.
ATM will be here tomorrow with the tank. Will take some pics of everything running tomorrow. I would take a pic of the huge holding tank but left my memory card in my desktop.
I had 3 20amp breakes and lines put in on monday. So should be all set for the tank.

Just for fun I see ATM did things diffrent then on my tank on yours. On the back for the plumming mine was all done under the tank as to let it go aganst a wall. I have to cut the pvc pipe when i moved the tank as they also did a intake in the bottom of the tank and a solo overfow.
Question, I see they used rubber to connect the overflow to the rest of the pvc. Did they give any reason for that as I was told to just use a pvc cup when I hooked it back up to the tank?

Only reason is quick disconnect to take and ship and then put it back. There are some items that have changed since that pick. I am really picky and probally a pain in the ass. Tank should be here in a few hrs.
The driving to vegas tomorrow to have dinner with the ownes of ATM. Wayde and Brett are great people. Just want to take them out to dinner and thank them for the great Job.
Then they start building my 1000 gallon tank.

I have a internet company that sells VOIP.
On another note. Guys from ATM are here right now at 1:16 am. A pump failed and they drove back out from vegas to replace it. Also some changes to make the overall system better. I am driving to Vegas in the morning to stay until Sunday.
Tank look much bigger then I thought. Will take lots of pics and post them all when I get back in town. Cant wait to get some fish in there.

Does anyone know how Requiem cut so much cost on his shark tank. If I remember correctly in his thread he said the whole setup including livestock only cost him aroung $3600-$3700. But back on topic, thats a sweet tank justforfun. Do you know what your gonna put it in yet?

New 550 Gallon Holding tank.

Here is a set so the water turns over in the tank. I also have a hose fitting on the side to snap the hose into and fill the tank. Just turn off the valve into the holding tank and open the valve on the hose.

I bought some decotive corals just to have in the tank for now. But that will all come out once the real reef goes in.
