Very nice sponge!!!! Done any research on them? Are they hard to keep?
Yes, I did. Place in low light and the tank should be mature with no algea. Feed them with phytos or rotis. Medium to hard keeping.
incredible specimen. good luck with it.
keep in mind that sucker is a power feeder, it needs to eat alot, they generally dont last long in skimmed tanks. food availability isnt generally high enough even with regular feedings of phyto and zoo
I dont know what the scientific name for this sponge is but ive seen it advertised as a Australian ULTRA Grady Hardy Red and White Spider Sponge,it was almost as expensive as it is amazing looking . Great looking tank BTW.
probably Trikentrion flabelliforme
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Porifera
Class: Demospongiae
Order: Poecilosclerida
Family: Raspailiidae
Genus: Trikentrion
Species: Trikentrion flabelliforme
or at least a member of the Trikentrion genus
I've got a little one, about 2.5 inches. I spot feed it when I feed the dendros. Mine seems to be a slow grower but its nice to see where it might get to long, long down the road.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, it does look like once it's grown out. Where do you have it in the tank?

how many amazing tanks do you have?
I only have one main tank. I also have a separate frag tank for my zoas/palys.
