I got the 4x45 watt Coralife PC retro. It has 2 pure actinics and 2 10000K bulbs. I also changed the canopy around a little to make everything fit. Also in the picture you can kind of see the LED moonlights that I fixed onto a 48" piece of wood. As always enjoy and post any questions you may have. In a week or 2 (when I finish my DIY acrylic sump/fuge and I get my live rock) I will show you this bad boy in action! (the moonlights arnt screwed in there to the canopy, I just put them there to show you) (also, where the one fan used to be is now on the back blowing air out. You can kinda see the zip ties holding it there in the bottom of the pic)

Masala check my thread "Tank Progress" and see if you can surround your MH like I did with my 4x65w PC's. I used the screw in zip ties as well and work great! Lights are 8 1/4in off the water. Tank temp goes up exactly 2 degrees in the 8 hrs they are on. Have yet to install my 2 Ice Cap fans, hopefully this week. You have a ton of wattage!! Good luck.

any way that you could post some pics with the canopy on with the all the lights on? also wanted to know where you got the MH light setup and about what the cost was. im at the point now where im looking for MH lighting and tearing my coralife aqualights up to fit very much like yours, except 2 PC in front, MH is center, and 2 more PC in the back... love the way yours turned out!!! thanks

Buzzword - The only way I could do that is to cut the PC reflector. Thats probably what im gunna do, have the 2 in the front then the other 2 in the back. Any comments or concerns about doing it this way? Thanks for the idea!:)

Masala, I have the spider light reflectors and the instructions said you could trim the overhanging edge off of them with metal shears and sand the edges if you needed too. I don't know what you have but if that helps.... I had enough room so I didn't need to do this. Hope you get them in ok. HTH

ok. Here we go. I finally think I got it down right. I had to put the 2 top fans on top of the hood but no biggy. I used metal sheers to cut the reflector for the PCs (horribly I might add) and just positioned everything symmetrical. Now does it look like I got it right? The inside is not the best looking thing in the world, but it doesnt need to be (thank god) Enjoy.

Just a thought, I know it would be a lot of work, but did you think about get some aluminum and cover the inside of the canopy with that so that you would have more reflection and coverage in the tank? I know you painted it with high gloss, but just another idea.

Looks really sweet. Are the fans on top the canopy blowing in or sucking out??? I don't think you really need to line the inside with aluminum. Your reflectors for your lights should be more than plenty.....
