A pic would help. If you go to the fish disease area Beth has pinned a post with pics of diseases you can look at them and see if any look like your dad's fish.

hey everyone...so I have 2 phosban reactors and in one I have carbon and the other I have biopellets...I am going to be running them in series so the same water will be traveling through both media...is there one way better then the other as far as running it through the carbon first or the bio first? Also do I need to run off the first bit of water into a bucket from the biopellets? I realize I do for the carbon...thanks as always guys

Wish I knew. My McKloskers flasher Wrasse has been in my overflow for a couple weeks. He should be able to get out but he won't go.
Once He decides to rejoin the rest of the fish I am going to get some flexible plastic mesh that they sell a Michaels or other craft stores. It is meant for needle point but I think it will work.

thanks....aren't you worried he might go down the drain pipe? cant you just stick a net down the overflow and catch him?

awesome!!! I just witnessed my sally crab tear into my two spot goby...actually I saw my goby doing his norm everyday thing and then 5 mins later my sally was devouring him whole and I was to late...now if only there was an easy way to catch a sally...I have over 100lbs of rock stacked into a volcano shape so somehow I don't think that's happening being there faster then lightning

I worry but I just can't get him. I'd have to pull out the pipes to get in and he'd go down the drain hole for sure.
I lost my green spotted mandarin to the drain. She got stuck and died.

Hey guys...would u say Sally light foots are known to eat slow moving fish? Just wondering because I caught mine with my two spot goby in his claws as he was eating him and just an hour or so before that my goby was going about his day as normal...could it have been that my crab wasn't being fed enough? They seem like opportunistic eaters in the case of them maybe being hungry? All of my other fish go by the crab all the time and he does nothing...I would like to get another two spot but u know...and the crab as u know is a real bugger to catch not to mention I have over 100 lbs of rock for him to climb through...just looking for some thoughts or advice thanks as always

ok so I took all my rock out just now and caught the little guy....I have him hanging out in my sump for now, I assume he is probably gonna start nipping at my calerpa and pods in the sump? I just thought maybe he could help clean up the sump a little...otherwise I guess im giving him away to someone else who might want him...thanks again

hi everyone...I have a powder brown tang in my tank and he seems to possibly be developing a couple light spots on his skin...its not white like ich more just a lighter skin color then it should be...theres like 4 spots on his skin about the size of the head of a pen...he seems to be eating just fine...anyways my question is im not sure if my other fish will also develop something...is it ok to treat your main tank with a general parasite cure? I have no corals so i thought it might be ok...its been 2 days since i have noticed the spots...should i wait longer or...?

skin bloches ar usually a sign of stress. can you post a clear closeup picture?

Do you have live rock or sand in the system?

They need a long tank. Sometimes when they don't have enough space the stress an their color is affected. Mine tended to lose color in his whole body when stressed. It took a good month for him to get comfortable and regain normal coloration.

yeah I really can't get a picture where they even show up...that's how faint they are...I guess I was just worried cuz my dad and I had a few fish in the QT tank and the day after I took mine out 2 of his that were still in the tank died and had some skin blotches...and yes there is live rock and sand
