MY Private Zoo!!!!!

And I'm not disagreeing with you either, but not all people research what they buy, even at that price. I know a thing or two about these little rascals, and they are off the chart hyper, and can have aggression issues as an adult. I don't think they should be allowed sold. So many people want these exotic pets that end up TOO exotic if that makes any sense. A lot of places will tell you what you wanna hear too. Like for instance, my brother. He wanted a "Bengal" cat. It's a cross between an asian fishing cat or a ocelot and a dometic shorthaired cat. Well, the asian fishing cat is around 30 pounds and like a little leopard, crossed to a 10 pound domestic cat, and it was not told to people that the early generations of those crossings would be too wild even handreared, and have personality and temperment problems. Breeders and importers often will tell you what you want to hear, and not the reality of it all. So my brother now has a 3 year old female bengal cat that has a lot of temperment problems, and has to go to a sanctuary, as a lot of the early generation bengals did. So that is my point. Just tryin to forewarn people before they make a monstrous mistake. ~Ali

Alison,
Im sure you know alot about these creatures, ive had all my exotics since i was 18 and im now 22. my coati doesnt have free roam of my whole house, just my room , which is like a small appartment. he has a gigantic cage that he is always in when im not home, that is his house. I totally agree that these creatures are wild and hyper and curious etc. but if you know enough about your exotic and how to take care of it there not a problem like you seem to portray(they very well can be if you never had an exotic). I agree with you if you let one roam your house like a dog would you would prolly nnot have a house left. For instance my coati will open drawers and refrigerators take the peanut butter out , unscrew the cap and have at it!! hes also a clepto, anything thats missing (especially my cologne) i will always find in his cage , along with watches , necklaces etc. but this personality is what i enjoy the most about them. they do things like this. And now my coati is about 35 pounds and much much bigger than the cute little coati he was when i first got him, but hes an amazing animal.DO they have aggressive issues???? YES, when people try to get too close to me when hes out he WILL attack you because he thinks im his father(i was the first one he set his eyes on at birth and i bottle fed him for along time), this is why hes in his cage when my friends are over. As for my crocs they are BOTH rescues and they DO have a home that will keep them for life!!! thier maximum length is only about 4 feet and there almost 3 1/2 now.
i thank you allison for pointing out that these animals are not for everyone, i should have stated that earlier in my post!!! i beleive im one of the few people you will ever see with a lizard the size of mine! people MUST understand my cages are gigantic, i have alot of room, i devote all my time to my animals, and it also cost me a small fortune to feed all my animals, but as you see they get PLENTY of food !!!
hope everyone enjoys the pics!! and keep the comments or questions comin, thats why i posted!!

when you have them as house pets, not outdoors, like cats they have long sharp claws, since they jump on just about everything up to my 10 foot cielings , if he ever jumped down on my shoulder or head as he always does he would rip me apart, also when he leaps he digs in to jump which would cause rips marks everywere in my house, not to mention he would try to DIG with them, their not a burrowing animal but they dig for fun!! And also coati's k-9s are extremely largewhen in the wild, and the way they grind them down ( much like a rat) is too chew everything hard in the wild, so without the k-9s they have no need to chew everything in the household. They also use those k-9s to crack open large fruit ( that have thick shells) but since hes a house pet and i feed him all fesh fruit and nothing to crack open theres no need for them. IT may seem somewhat cruel but they remove then when there soo young , they never evan know they had them.!!
any other questions feel free to ask!!

well first off just to cover my own butt here, dont just go buy a caimen unles you know whts involved. it costs me to feed my two caimen about 45 bucks a week if not more, my cages are gigantic, actually my caimen cage is 14 feet long by 9 feet wide, and it has 2 gigantic ponds in it with filtration..the pnds are about 200 gal. each. i spend alot of time cleaning the cage, especially cause its alot of dirt, rock, grass, and live plants. I hate to see people buy crocs and pet stores that are little and cute then they have a gigantic nasty croc on there hands and throw it in a lake or pond when they cant handle it. Alot of pet stores sell american aligators,( just liek LFS sells nurse sharks) the american alligator grows over 14 feet long and weighs close to or over a ton in the wild and will not hesistate to eat you..( there not soo cute then). So basically if you dont have ALOT of time, Money and most importantly the ROOM for there cages, just wait till your older...it will be alot cooler to have a huge setup and the money to take care of them rather than a small tank and suffering animals.
But anyway if your ready to take this plunge i would be sure to help ya out. any other questions feel free to ask. I rather educate than have somone not know

my cat is not declawed, and does not tear up my furniture.
if it came down to the cat or the couch, the cat wins. declawing a cat is not only cruel, but unhealthy for the cat.

come on now,
more than 50% of cats are declawed, and the only reasons are not only because of furniture, thats just an example. i would like to see proof that declawing a cat is unhealthy( i dont see validity there). Also when it comes to a coati, they dont have cat like nails, they have claws almost like a talon, beleive me you wouldnt want that in the house. Declawing a coati does not however affect them at all, my coati can still run, jump and especially dig just as well as if he had his claws. Also if you read my post way up there i explain how the coati gets his K-9's removed and declawed at such a young age that it does not hurt them in any way shape or form and they live there life as if they never evan know they are supposed to have them. Please dont start my post into a flame war, it was just meant to share my animals with everyone
