Mysid Shrimp!!

If anyone has ever watched Mysid Shrimp run around you'll understand how LUCKY! I was to get this picture. For the rest... trust me, taking a pic of a Mysid is difficult at best.

I have a question though...
I see creatures almost exactly like that all over the sand bed of my refugiums...in the water column too. I've always considered them to be "pods"...all I know is most of the time there are multitudes of little critters just like that pic swimming around. Do you think its possible that I have mysis breeding in my refugiums? Sure looks like mysis to me compared to the pic you posted.:thinking:

If they run around like Richard Pryor on fire then it's definately Mysid Shrimp. The tell-tale sign is the glowing eyes at night when a flashlight is on them.

Then I believe my pods(at least some of the multitudes) are actually mysid. The other day we had a power outage and I had the flashlight looking in the refugium(it is under lights 24/7 normally) and numerous little creatures with neon greenish/reddish heads were darting every where! No idea how I managed to get mysis multiplying in my refugium but it seems I have them in healthy numbers. Another link in the food chain!!:yes:

I now have tons of them now that my scooter blenny is gone.They come out in the hundreds at night.The little suckers can move too!
