I think thats cruel. How would you feel if someone killed you for your house.Just because they loved your flowers?

It's been on the snail all this time and is fine.So i would just leave it be.

It may just be a SNAIL but they are our responsibility.Your not a very responsible aquarium keeper. If you kill things just because you feel like it

Just for the record i wasn't one of those cruel people.Who killed snails just for kicks.I'm the girl who raised a deer because her mother was shot by hunters.Just for the record anyway

Have you ever killed a bug in your life? I am not a huge fan of killing things just because, but this warrants it in my opinion. Besides what if the snail dies or gets eaten and is stuck under a rock then both are dead. I almost feel like i am saving one life here. But I still want to know what kind of coral it is etc..

My question is.Did you not notice it when you put the snail in?Then it was probably tiny and is growing just fine on the snail.I would just monitor it.if for some reason it disappears for more than a couple days.then i would search for it.I doubt the coral would die in that amount of time without light.
Just trying to give options.Other than killing the poor snail. It's just doing it's job.

hey b-baby... good thing you're not a snail, cause i'd squash ya'. that's what we do as humans.... that's why we have thumbs, do you try to increase your pods population to feed your fish? look at the ingredients on your fish food... full of fish and other little creatures, do you wear leather, eat meat? what is one more snail? i say glue it to the rock without killing it and lets see how long it lives in one place...lol (just kidding about that one)

Looks like porites on your snail and if so, they will need lots of lights, good flow and good water qaulity. I agree with the above posters, I'd smoke the snail and glue the shell in place somewhere.

Wow, another heated argument. Bah, I don't see a problem smokin the snail. BUT I personally would leave it be and have a SWEET roaming coral snail. I have wanted one with coral for ages, I even tried to get xenia to grow on ones shell for S&G.

If you left it alone, wouldn't the coral eventually get big enough that the snail would get tired of dragging it around, thus the snail will abandon his shell and find a another one? Assuming you have some other empty shells in the tank for him to choose from.

umm... snails can't switch shells. but i'd leave it, it's lived this long let it be maybe it'll propagate it somewhere else.

I didn't know that

I knew hermit crabs could...just assumed the snails could as well.

First of all thats not why we have thumbs.Secondly it's one thing to buy something that has dead fish in it.It's another thing. To buy something living. Thus taking on the responsibility of caring for it.Then just killing it because we feel like it.Imagine what the world would be.If we just killed whenever we felt like it

Yea heated conversation is putting it lightly. Id let the snail live for a bit more and see if the coral grows more. If it does, then I say smoke it. But thats just me.

think of it this way. the coral grew on the snail, the snail didnt grow on the coral.
