Crocera(sp?) stay nice and small and is a good choice for your nano.
The size is OK but I'm worried about light for a Crocea. Is the Aquapod shallow enough so that the light is close to the Clam?

Ive got a 4" crocea under 150 watts of MH in my 24 gallon Aquapod. I honestly would not recommend a clam under only 70 watts, even if it is MH. The lower light clams get to be quite big, like the derasa and gigas. Crocea and maxima would be the only ones you could put in there, but need to have the right lights for it.

The large cube tanks are approx 20" tall. IMO a 70w Halide isnt enough, the 150 would be my suggestion. The 14 gal cubes and down are ideal for a 70watt halide they are only about 15" tall.

IDK may even be a market for the "Dedicated Deresa Cube". New from Oceanic wcart for 5 gallon jugs of ESV B-Ionic, constant dosing pumps included!

i think with proper maintenance and having the crocea at the top of the tank, its very do-able in a 24 nano under 70w mh.

I tend to agree that it will be ok at the top of the tank but the colors will wash out at that angle. Clams look their best when looking down at them.

Yea given those circumstances, I agree also. Just test the calcium/alk and all that fun stuff biweekly or so. I check mine weekly and the my crocea is doin great.

Not to diss what your wanting to do....but, 70w on a 10g is way different than on a 24g. Deeper tank.
Remember too that light is not the only consideration. Water quality plays a big affect. I know that you are a responsible reefer and will help your daughter keep up on her water.
I would suggest that ya'll keep it up in the rockwork and spot feed once in a while if it's small. Keep up the good work and keep the kids involved. Awsome that she is interested.
