My plan is to run without the skimmer as I can only lift the hood about an inch with the skimmer in place and to be honest the skimmer is at best weak (trying to be kind). A tank this size is easy to do lot's of water changes.
I might look around and see if there is a HOB (hang on back) skimmer that I could use as I really like to use a skimmer and lot's of LR for filtration when running a reef set up.
the HQI lighting is great though so whichever way you go IMHO go with something that gives you the HQI lighting.
