....LSU would kill USC...any day of the week....Yeah..USC looks great...What teams do they play that are so great...Oregon?
LSU would thump USC so would UF...

OK Thomas and Niger, open your eyes! That's the problem with everyone in the South, they don't even look around, I've seen it from living there...ESPN hates the PAC 10, they are the only major conference that is signed with Fox Sports, yet still several people with ESPN say the PAC 10 is better this year. I hope LSU plays USC in the title game, it would be a great matchup, but please don't argue that anyone has more talent on their team than USC, they have 9 potential 1st round picks on defense, they have had the #1 recruiting class in the country according to Rivals.com each of the last 4 years...Its not even a debate.

And you guys scoff at Cal and Oregon!?!?! Look at the polls, Cal #3 in both. Look what Oregon did against Cal, thats why Herbstreet said Oregon should be top 5...and at Michigan.

This is from a admittedly biased USC (original one - South Carolina, 1801) and SEC diehard fan, but Southern Cal barely wins it games against teams they should thump into the ground (Washington this year and countless games in the last 5 years, fact) THey are known for overcoming defecits and barely winning over their "dynasty" years. No competition, SEC is the best conference

I am the only one in this debate that is unbiased (from Kansas City, but have lived everywhere), your just another southerner with their eyes closed...Over a 10 year period, no question SEC is the best conference, its a toss up this year, but I think the PAC is better, oh BTW USC (the USC in the other 49 states that is) only struggles with PAC 10 schools, never seems to struggle with SEC schools, just ask Ark. and Auburn, they know what its like

Take another look...The most recent breaks down as so..
1) Notre Dame
2) UGA
3) UCLA
4) Alabama
5) USC
6) Texas
7) FSU
8) Nebraska
9) Miami FL
10) Oklahoma
Heres your Star Rating...
Plenty of discussion surrounds where the top prospects come from across the country. Here is a look at how the five-stars break down by geographic region:
Region Five-stars
Southeast 10
Heartland 5
Mid-Atlantic 4
Midwest 4
West 4
East 0
Heres the 07 list
1 Florida 27 4 16 7 3.89 2,959
2 Southern Cal 18 6 10 2 4.22 2,761
3 Tennessee 32 5 11 15 3.63 2,726
4 LSU 26 2 19 5 3.88 2,695

7 Auburn 30 0 13 15 3.37 2,013
8 Notre Dame 18 1 12 4 3.72 1,932
9 Georgia 23 0 12 10 3.48 1,895
10 Alabama
06 List..(they are on top 06,05,04)
1 Southern Cal 25 5 14 6 3.96 3,018
2 Florida 27 4 17 5 3.89 2,901
3 Florida State 31 2 18 10 3.68 2,703
4 Georgia 28 2 14 12 3.64 2,436
5 Texas 25 2 11 12 3.60 2,283
6 Penn State 24 1 14 8 3.63 2,241
7 LSU 25 2 12 11 3.64 2,238
8 Notre Dame 28 2 10 15 3.46 2,189
9 Oklahoma 28 1 13 14 3.54 2,180
10 Auburn
Now count SEC vs PAC-10 teams on those lists and tell me how great they are..

The above list you posted is for next year's freshman, that will change when (just like every year) Pete Carroll looks at all the undecided 5 star recuits and says "I want you, you, you, and you" and he moves up to first.
I wasn't arguing that the PAC 10 had more overall high school talent, I was arguing they are better this year on the field, you and Thomas were saying LSU has more talent than USC, this is clearly not true, your post proved that.
Once again, for this decade the SEC is the best conference in the country (not debateable), this year I think the PAC is better (debateable), USC is the best program in the country this decade hands down (not debateable).
USC will kick LSU or FLA's butt in the championship game....(ok, thats debateable).

As a USC fan all I will say is I don't know who would win yet. SC hasn't been tested good enough yet and I think Booty is questionable.
One thing I do know. The SEC is once again way overrated. Nearly all the teams schedule out of conference games against teams like the University of gum rott at Bugtustle to pad their stats. Look at the pattern, they do it every year. What cracks me up is the the SEC fan boys always talking bout how the PAC teams are nothing then when they get a lesson in reality (what was that USC - Arkansas Score again last year?) the excuses start. Last year it was "Arkansas is one of our lower tier teams, big deal". Then Arkansas goes on to win the division. Still getting a good laugh outta that.

Congratulations to Illinois for their win over Wisconsin. Their running back, Mendenhaal, is an absolute stud and he's a freshman. They also have a very good running quarterback and a great young receiver in Benn.
Hopefully Purdue can knock out Ohio State tonight and really cause some turmoil in the Big Ten.

Ron Zook is really doing the job huh? Somehow I don't think Florida is missing him though. THE Ohio St looks really good though....Wisconsin was over-rated....Your wolverines will still play THE OSU for the Big 10 title IMO, only time I root for Mich.
Where is my buddy Nigerbang to rip on the Pac 10 after USC was upset at home by the team expected to finish last....Still think there is no compitition in the PAC Niger?

I actually think the big ten may be a little underrated this year. They are under the radar because OSU lost in the BCS last year and because Michigan started off so bad. OSU looks like the real deal, (or maybe Purdue is a bit overrated). Michigan has been struggling for wins. But I will tell you this... some team will overlook Illinois in a bowl game and get smacked around. They have some good talent.

USC gets beat by Stan. When they were favored by 39... I don't call it comp. I think stan. Got lucky. Kinda like mich. And AS. LSU got lucky and pulled it out, UCLA got killed by ND, I still got to go with the SECOND,

Cal has Oregon St, then then embarrassing UCLA (though it would be tough for most teams to beat even Notre Dame with a 4th string walk on at QB), then a tough and improved ASU (Dennis Erickson is doing a great job here). USC in week 11 I think. IMO Cal would likely have a hard time against LSU, they are fast, but not very physical.

If Tennesee loses another game LSU is in trouble. Florida will not lose to them a second time this year if they make it to the SEC championship game.
