Limewater will remove CO2 and if the CO2 isn't replaced quickly enough then PH will slowly rise. If you have a skimmer and drop the limewater into the intake then there shouldn't be much effect on PH.
Also, if you drip at night only when PH naturally drops then limewater can stabilize PH.

For a tank that size you are probably better off going with Sea balance it is a very good additive covering most of the things you need. I use it in my 75g and my corals grow like crazy.

Do you do water changes? What's your alkalinity? If you do water changes regularly, like once a week, and your water is buffered well, you should not have wild swings in pH. JMO, but I really think it is true.:thinking:
