Need advice setting up a filtration system

According to the wife, we are still getting a lot of micro bubbles. So it must be somewhere in the plumbing. I have two options at this point:
Continue to let it run as is or shut it down and start the closed loop until I can get the refugium going. Not sure if I want to reduce the filtration at this point and run only a CL, but I welcome any suggestions!

Still think you have too much flow going through your sump.

How much would flow be regulated if I ran a "T" off the dart to the refugium and have the refugium drain back down to the sump? You think that would be a better idea than getting rid of the sump all together and just running the refugium off a smaller pump back to the tank? How much flow would that provide to the refugium?

I'd definitely keep the sump. If you T off the pump and run it too the fuge then back to the return section of the sump. Then less water is running through your baffles because less water is running through the sump's baffles. Because less water is being pumped up to the tank.

Thanks stdreb!!! I think that is what I am going to do. You think that will be enough flow to run the refugium?

Maybe I missed it but what are you running at as return pump?

Definately, you really only need around 1200 gph of flow through your sump area. That should be more than enough to power both. I really think that even with diverting flow into a fuge may not slow it down enough.

Would you switch over to hard plumbing versus soft plumbing and add some 90's? Currently I am running soft plumbing from the 3 way splitter to the overflow boxes.

As far as bubbles, I don't think that matters, I'm running soft plumbing now, for no other reason than I didn't want to buy more pvc and had enough soft stuff to plumb it. Try to keep it as simple as possible when plumbing this stuff. You don't need a giant mess to work around. And less things can go wrong.

Got the refugium running splitting off the main outflow, but still getting MAJOR bubbles. I siliconed all the connections hoping that would work, to no avail! I am going to play around with it more when I get home, still can silicone around the ball valve.
