Make arrangements to go do a "chick" thing with her. Something like a couples spa session or something.

Find out if she really loves you.
Buy her a membership at a local gun range and see if she bolts.

Seriously though, I just noticed where you live...how about a dinner cruise out on the ocean...or some snorkeling at La Jolla?

Hmmm set the bar kinda high for yourself, huh?
Perhaps a bag of money, or maybe a solid gold rocket car...

+1 on the cruise there are awesome last minute deals on them .
i have been on 8 or 9 so far and they are just a great get away.
although the spa idea is nice also if you cant leave town for a few days.

SCSI nailed it. You've set the bar too high bro. You've gotta pace yourself. You may not realize it but you have now instilled a level of expectation in her.

I agree that you need to get away from a physical gift and go with a shared experience. Hot Air Balooning? Shared spa experience?

I'd like to know the answer to this one? Is this the girl who lives in Boston???

It depends on the girl. I am very practical and pragmatic, so for me a necklace from Tiffany's would be nice but I wouldn't see it as the best use of money (depending on the cost I guess). I like to get something that we can both enjoy (eg last year we got a outdoor fireplace thing). But that may not be her thing, so it is hard to answer. I would say if you think she expects the same or more...alarm bells in my book. But then when my husband talked to my Dad after we got engaged, my Dad told my future hubby that I was very frugal

I dunno man . You kinda backed yourself into a corner here . You either stay on par and follow a long road of ever growing expectations or you look like a cheapo now and back off the gift giving thing a LOT . WE understand your feelings for this girl but you have to pace yourself man . If you go full bore now your going to run out of steam before you make it to the alter . My opinion is you need to set this into place now .

You know what would be cool and what she would really like? If you pay her rent/mortage in advance for a few months or even a few of her car payments.. Chicks love that and it shows them how much you care about them..
This just keeps getting better and better...
hahahahahahahahha
