need help!!! confused about pickling lime/kalkwaser

are pickling lime/kalkwaser the same? also would i use this purely just for topoff or would i use kalk/lime and ro water for top-off

Pickling lime, Lime, Quick Lime, Calcium oxide, Calcium hydroxide are all referred to in the hobby as Kalk.
When you mix Kalk with RO water you get Kalkwasser AKA Limewater.
If Limewater is used exclusively for topoff it can help maintain Calcium and Carbonate (ALK) levels.

so when some people do top-off they do pure kalkwasser?

I top off with ro water . Normally it is about 1.5 gallons per day. At night I drip kalk 3/4 gallon
