Need ideas for catching a fish

when I had to catch a yellow tank and x-mass out of my 125 reef with lr i put the net in and left it there for a few hours they got usd to it and came out. After that I chased the tang around the tank with a small net and it swam into the big one at the other end.... the one I had in already. the wrasse i fed and when he was eating i came up from under him and bam!!!
i know the net idea you wanted to stay away from.... the glass one sounded interesting.....

I caught 4 damsels with this:
It had flake food in it but soon dropped to the bottom. I think they finally went in out of curiosity. I cut off the spout so the entrance would be bigger and once a fish went in I hurried and grabbed the bottle pulling them out.

seems kind of easy for them to get out of..... how bout using a type of mesh?.. along with the larger part of the bottle

Yep, they can get out!!
That's why I waited at the tank for them to go in and then quickly grabbed the bottle! They wouldn't even approach the bottle with the smaller hole.

good luck bang. i think the pvc will work that is a great idea:thinking:

Two ideas for the PVC. Use black pvc. And the other is attach fishing line.
If/when the fish enters, pull the line up to water level. Just be sure to put a few holes a inch or so down so you don't spill to much water when you take him out of the tank. Your wife won't be to happy.
