need opinions

i am getting a 75 gallon tank and i dont really have that much more money to spend on the lights. (im only 15) lol
i was looking at a odyssey 500w metal halide fixture.
is this a good light or would i just be wasting my money?

IMO...You would be taking a risk...I have read more bad than good on them.....Do a search on them and read the reviews.....

I have two of them in use right now and both are perfect. I have had two others that have come and gone with tanks over the years and they were fine also.
The bad rap is from the older versions with the magnetic ballasts.
I , personally feel they are well worth the money and would have no qualms ordering another one in the future.
