im thinking of replacing my eshopps 100cs sum with a 10 or 20 gallon tank for couple reasons on current sump doesnt fit inside tank stand so taking extra room two get rid of bio balls three have more room for skimmer...only thing is how do i transition from one to the other??? i need to build a bubble trap in it that much i do know other than that im just guessing at it since i dont want to lose all my good bacteria in the transfer which will prob. kill off a few things...so what you guys/girls think how i need to go about doing this

You got my response in PM
So now you are scared of being critiqued?
I'de go with the 20g long if you could. The longer runs keep microbubbles at bay. Put some filter floss in your current tanks sump and let it run for about a week, while you are building on your new sump. Then just install your new sump, rearrange your plumbing and put the old filter in the new sump. Fill the new sump up with freshly made saltwater with the same SG as your display tank (mini water change) and then turn on your return pump and you're all set. A Sump change should take about an hour or less. Depends if you have to do PVC work or not.
The old filter will have enough bacteria on it to help with the transition. Even if you didn't want to use the old filter, it would be just like doing a water change on your system and replacing the filter.. You're not messing with the display tank at all.

if i was to do this i'd build it with same specs as sump so less work and no extra plumbing needed...at least on the overflow to the sump portion then would evenly space out the other two chamber to be the same in size...so one chamber for wet/dry filtration middle chamber for skimmer and last chamber return pump with few dividers between 2nd and 3rd chamber to prevent micro bubbles...

ok so here recently i've been fighting off ich things seem to be getting better but my pearlscale butterfly seems to be taking to blunt of it...i did coppersafe treatment following bottle instructions for about 4/5 days then did 50% water change, rinsed half bioballs, changed half wet/dry filter...everyone else seems to be ok but pearlscale looks like its shedding some scales??????? also when feeding he seems to smell and know the food (mysis shrimp) is there but seems blind and doesnt eat like it used to...one day didnt eat at all but seems to be getting more as of the past couple days???? the funny thing is it seems like my oces. clown is protecting him hardly leaves his side and at times seems to be picking at him to clean him, not attacking pearl doesnt seem to mind either has anyone ever seen a similar instance????
