I have some worms that start out like a red hair. After a couple of days they branch out like a tree branch. They are bright red and are on the glass only as far as I can tell. Please identify if you can. I don't have a camera or I would post some pictures.
I sounds to me like the results of Cirratulid spawn. If so, the branches would be made up of many individual worms and they will retreat to the sand bed fairly soon.
Without a picture a very detailed description will be required to make an ID.
