Need to hard line to sump

I really just have one question. I need to know what is the first piece for PVC coming off the bulk head. How do you connect the two. I should be good after that.
I have flex tubing and want to hard wire everything.

Do you know what size bulk head it is?
Is it threaded inside all the way through or is one side smooth and larger?

The top one but instead of the other half being smooth it's threaded which an O ring is used to tighten the bulk head to the tank, make sense.

So if I have it correct the barb fitting threads in to bulk head if so then remove the barb fitting and replace it with a Slip x MPT - Used to join PVC pipe to a female-threaded fitting at 90 degrees. Of the same size.

hopefully this is a good enough picture. i want to get rid of the flex tubing but not sure what pieces i would need to come of the barb?

I would need to see the bulkhead because it looks like you have an bulked integrated barb fitting. If not the barb should unscrew and you can get a threaded pvc fitting to replace it. If the barb does not unscrew then replace the bulkhead with one that does.

Agree with GeoJ.....It does appear from the pic that the barb fitting does screw into the bottom side of the bulkhead.....If that is the case you'd just need to get the correct PVC adapter and then hard plumb it. I thought the reasoning was noise.......
I'd look into SpaFlex if that's the case.....SpaFlex will cut down on noise, and can easily be configured to tight spaces IMHO......I do use both on my setup though, just depends what your needs are.

I need to hard line because my return line is currently sitting right next to the drain line and does separate my skimmer, lr and cheato. I need to separate them would to get rid of the metal clamps and noise.
The barbs do not unscrew So does that mean I would have to replace the entire bulk head which means I would have to drain my tank? If so, I won't be doing it.

Are they threaded inside? Can you tell by looking or do you remember when you set it up?

You could buy a PVC barbed fitting that that has a standard PVC fitting on the other sice, then cut the hose you have on there now and use it (the hose) to connect the existing barb to the new barbed fitting with another hose clamp. Then hard pipe it from there. Kinda half-azzed but it would work.

I'd replace the whole bulkhead since they don't unscrew....I try like a mad man to never use barb fittings......I'd definitely not use them on those areas. Clamping them down with worm clamps can easily pinch/cut the line. Hard plumbing with a union makes things nice and easy.......

Yea but he already said he's not replacing the whole bulkhead so that doesn't appear to be an option.
Barbs aren't ideal but they're fine if you double clamp them.
